So it is Bru, my bad :)

Yeah, Gibbo has stock, like he's going to go round 5 Thousand GPU's, break them open and BIOS flash them.

Andreas Schilling

This ^^^ guys a joker

I very much doubt that Gibbo has stock of the new fury X (I quite like that name) not if the launch is still 3 weeks away, if the end retailers had stock then there would be leaks every where by now.

Maybe he has stock of the new 300 series, or of course he could have been trolling us buy saying he still has plenty of 200 series, so therefore has the 300 series. :D

Hopefully tomorrows announcement will shed a bit more light on things.

He thinks Having a Titan-X makes him a Waitrose / Marks and Spencer shopper looking down at the common people.

Like one of those guys who thinks he's cool awkwardly crawling out of his Gull Wing Door Sports Car, there is a word for those folk...

Well lets face it owning a Gullwing (i mean the original) is quite cool

I'll laugh if it's £400 and 10% faster than 980ti. Sorry if you're not a lidl shopper and live in a 3 bedroom or bigger house you can't have it. Only for cheapskates.

Yeah

Either this rumour will be short lived, or they are all about to be revealed....

Dam..i live in a 3 bedroom, but occasionally shop at Aldi...where do i qualify?

Hehe Gregster buying a Fury to save his hide :D

Fed up of waiting in truth. The 290X is boring now and AMD have taken far too long to release this potential beast. My no no's are price (needs to be under £500) and AIO cooler (too much hassle swapping GPUs in and out) but other than that, I will get one.

I personally looking for the Fiji Pro if the price list posted today is right. I don't want to spend for the highest gpu, just to change it for a 3 times more powerful next year...14nm...4 times the transistor count on the same die size...

I'll be looking at the cutdown HBM GPU, but i'm not buying right away, 290 is still going strong and i paid full price for it 2 weeks after launch, £320.

I might even get a 980 at a later date if they go cheap enough and this turns out to be not as good as i hope.

Being quite optimistic there? I seriously doubt games will see a 300% increase in FPS.. it would be nice for the few that want to go 4K, but just not happening imo.

Hopefully its competitive in performance and just not price because performance is lacking. The aio gives them a bit of room to play with clock speeds so hopefully thats paid off and its up there with the ti in performance terms.

I didn't think you got your 290 till April of last year? That is 6 months and not 2 weeks.

I think AMD will price it relevant to performance against NVidias offerings. Let's hope the new range starts to turn things around as having NVidia dictating is not best for any consumer(irrelevant to how much money you have :) )

I own a 290 and shops at M&S? Where does that put me.... :p

But... sadly despite people saying they are only joking etc. some of them are actually being serious when they say "value brand, lidl shoppers" etc. it really is quite embarrassing :o Just look at most of the TX owners across various forums, they act like they don't care about the 980ti and nvidia more or less giving them the fingers but really you can tell that they are pretty peeved of by some of their posts, if price wasn't an issue for the nvidia posh club then why get annoyed? :p

For myself, it is largely about bang per buck as I just simply don't see the point of paying more for something when it isn't worth the extra.

When I was deciding between the 290 and 780 this time last year, there was no question as to what to go for, the 290 performed better overall, had mantle (which improved my performance drastically in bf 4 where I have over 1000 hours and will probably get another 500 hours), had 4GB VRAM etc. but not only is/was it a better card overall, it was

- cheaper by about £60
- and you got the amd gold award so I got the choice of 4 games iirc (which I sold on for about £40 thus making the card even cheaper and more bang per buck value

Is/was it worth going with the 780 just because it is by nvidia? For myself, nope.

Either way, the fact of the matter is, if people are looking for value, "pound stretching" etc., they most definitely aren't going to be looking at £400+ GPU's, they will be looking at the £100-200 mid range cards.

If AMD bring out a 980ti killer, then they can charge higher for it and the enthusiasts who care about having the best/fastest will pay for it, obviously it needs to be priced accordingly though and not have a TX price tag....

And yes people don't realise how important marketing is, just go and look at how much money these companies put into marketing especially the likes of Apple and Samsung, if it wasn't important to sales then why on earth would they be putting millions of pounds into that area? Brand power and marketing is the most important thing to a products/company's success, just compare android phones by Samsung to the likes of HTC.

EDIT:

And if AMD fail with this card then I have no problems jumping to a nvidia 980ti. There are only 2 things that will dictate which brand my next card will be:

- g/free sync monitor choice for 34" 1440
- how batman will run
