That effectively means everyone without a British birth certificate and is unemployed, or even on low pay or decent pay but struggles due to having a disabled child could theoretically be deported.
Listen I'm no hippie, and don't have an issue with immediate deportation of all convicted foreign criminals, but to be able to deport someone just because they're poor, regardless of whether they've done anything wrong or not sounds scary?

May will make clear in the new rules that a right to family life will not prevent the deportation of a foreign national who has been convicted of a criminal offence, has breached immigration rules or cannot maintain themselves or their family.
