The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Question. What's with the backplates? I've never put one any of the graphics cards I've used...

I got the 980 ti evga superclocked acx 2.0
 
Mainly for aesthetics but they can prevent GPU sagging and sometimes offer passive cooling for chips on the rear of the card.
 
Just gonna order two inno 3d versions tomorrow and wait for them , never had a reference card befor but coming from two 980s SOC ( which are warm to say the least ) what are the temps like in SLI , are they going any higher than 83 on the top card ?
 
managed to install in my old system for now and had a quick game on some very old games gta iv and just cause 2 . coming from a heavily overclocked 780 games seem to be playing soooo much smoother & only used 39% of gpu with a max temp of 50 it seems loud to me but I am used to water. anyone with a 780 thinking about one of these go for it
 
What do people think about two of these on x58?

I currently have two 970s that run very well but will soon be going 3440 x 1440.

The platform is clearly old but with blower cards it'd be PCIe 2.0 x16/x16 (my 670 are x16/x8 due to cooling issues in the adjacent slots).

How much of an issue would the rest of the system be? Can't help thinking that for a set budget the ti setup would still be a better bet than going x99 5820k and keeping the 970s?

It's the Xeon 6c/12t at 4.5ghz

Ugh, Shadowplay is a damn mess. I want to use it to record some Witcher 3, but it disabled SLI. Even after manually turning that back on I still only get Single GPU performance. Both cards don't exceed 40% usage now :/

Guess I'll need to reinstall my drivers.
 
Getting pretty frustrated at the lack of updates now. I've got two blocks, a terminal and fluid waiting at home. Due to the delay, I've arranged to send my XSPC tubing back and ordered some Mayhems tubing. Really don't want to use another brand other than EVGA due them being fine with putting on your own blocks.

I've almost broken twice now and ordered a pair of Titan X's. But I don't feel the ~£600 or so difference will be worth it at 3440x1440.
 
Found somewhere that has the EVGA 980ti in stock and placed an order, went back in and it's now showing as out of stock. Looks like I got the last one :D

Edit: Looked again and they've run out the non SC version the SC reference is still in stock!
