Where was it that you can get a return flight to New York for 499?

Is it Iceland the stop over? I remember reading it somewhere..but can't find it on google...

Cheers

Norwegian Air, I flew with them to New York and it was very pleasant, that was a direct flight and was cheap as chips.

If you have windows 8, get the sky scanner app. It's very good for finding cheap flights if you are flexible on dates, just due to it's graphical interface and seeing flight costs for the whole year.
Although always press continue as sometimes the price isn't what is initially displayed,

Jet2 were going on about a flight for £399 to NY if you're worried about cost.

In Feb I flew with Aer Lingus, transferring at Dublin and going through immigration was amazing. Even for Visa holders its still far quicker.

Edit: You know i just checked the Jet2 thing. Direct flight from Glasgow (for example) to Newark was only £363. The dates are a bit smelly. Im sure you could giggle it around.

You can fly direct from Heathrow or Manchester for ~£320 depending on the time of year you go. I believe it was the off months like May/June, September/October (all out of holidays obviously). I found it by just doing nearly every week on Skyscanner.

EDIT: For reference, I found this only 2 or 3 weeks ago (didn't book, was just looking out of interest).

Is there a way you can sort flights by aircraft type?

Im scared of flying but would feel more comfortable on a new plane like the dreamliner

lol, raised a smile

You are actually probably best on an older plane, which already has crash experience and had subsequent recalls over the years.

The reality it the only way to get over the scare of flying is fly more in my experience. Never been a great passenger in anything, but over the years I have totally got over my fear of flying simply because I spent a long time flying and you sort of get use to the noises, processes, beeps and bongs and experience so many different forms of weather you get more comfortable.

I got 6 flights coming up in 2 weeks. I always think if we crash then i'll leave a beautiful corpse, with pants full of poop.

Numerous companies list the routes they fly certain aircraft on (Singapore Airlines for example list every route they travel and what aircraft covers it). Some flight sites detail what plane is used on the flight, but I've ever seen any that let you filter based on it.

Brussels jetairways fly to Newark going in Oct for 450€ each.

Indian airline no idea what they are like.
