Thanks in advance

I pre-ordered it early in the week but I guess even that won't guarantee me one on release if others did the same.

The rep on the EVGA forums said it was a months wait for its release.

Thanks for the info, I had a look and you were correct. Sadly my 980 will be won on Ebay this evening so I will be without a gpu for a month now........

......which is why I just bought a Titan X Superclocked which will be with me in the morning, all happy again :)

Well, when you've got the money for it - why not! :D:D

I agree, I figured it wasn't much more than the Classified anyway and they had 42 in stock lol.
I see you were lucky and got your 980ti, very nice :)

No :( Haven't got it yet, it's currently a placeholder. Ordered from a sister company as they had Gigabyte stock, guess the money all goes to the same place anyway :D

Frustrating I know. I am sure you will receive it before I would have received my Classified card in July. Probably why I jumped ship to Titan, I didn't want to go without for so long. The choice was, sit and watch tv with the wife for a month or blow a grand......guess what won it for me :)

Classifieds are a rip off mate. Unless you go custom water cooling or LN2 it's not worth it. Enjoy your Titan. You're not missing anything by not getting the classy.

Did you just sell on Ebay? Did it just go for £390?

....of course you did, far too big a coincidence otherwise.

I am in the market for a either a 980 ti Hybrid, or a quiet non ref 980 ti, but would consider making do with a 980 if the price was right. The price of the cheapest 980 I can find from a retail outlet, is the Palit Jet Stream for £360 (converted from Euros), which is £390 on OcUK.

Regardless of what edition of 980 a used card is, no way am I paying anywhere near as much as I can get a brand new 980 card for.....yet on Ebay, they are all going consistently for 350 GBP +. I consider 350 GBP perhaps too much to pay even for a new 980.

As long as their are so many idiots around willing to pay about as much for a used card as a new card, no chance of getting a reasonable deal on a used card, so I guess it will be the long wait on the 980 ti hybrid.

P.S. I read further down the thread that it indeed was you who sold the Galax HOF GTX 980 on Ebay......but what about the spiel about it being 'unused'? What about the spiel about it being the spare GPU from an intended Sli config that you never bothered with cos you have postponed upgrading to 4K? What about it just having sat in it's box since 'February'?

Seller lies in ebay shocker...

Its ebay what do you expect. don't see why you need bring it up here.

Last two GPU's I've sold on ebay were listed as having never been over-clocked, ever, even slightly... no sir-e, MSI afterburner? what's that! ;)

I must then be one of the very few people who actually tell people the truth when I sell a used product, be it a car, or a graphics card and also who offers 2nd hand equipment at reasonable prices. When I have sold a used GPU on Ebay, I have always went for 2/3rd of the current retail value of the card, whilst everyone else aims for 95% or whatever......yet I still get endless hassles from cadgers trying to knock me down left right and centre, even after already having agreed to buy it.

I am annoyed, because I have wasted a lot of time recently due to this upgrade itch. I get annoyed with retailers price gouging on lmited supply and mad rush. I am annoyed because the reference 980 ti's are complete bargepole material because of the ridiculous heat and loudness of the ref coolers and I am now having to wait until....whenever.

....but most annoying, are the grimey grippy scumsuckers on Ebay, sitting trying to punt their old GTX 980s for like 90%+ of retail value. Adding to this annoyance is all the b.s. tales like "just sitting in it's box, never been used man". But most annoying of all are the smacktards who are paying that sort of money for used cards. I would like to get hold of these idiot bidders Email addresses and send them links to brand new cards from reputable retailers, going for cheaper than what they are paying for used cards.

I suggest you embrace capitalism rather than fight it.
