NatWest closing quite a lot of North Wales branches

What do you need the branch for?

Dunno about OP.

But I Bank several times a month, typically paying in a couple of thousand at a time as a mix of cash and cheques.

Cant really see how interweb banking might help me unless somebody has managed to work out how to allow me to stuff cash/cheques into the (now otherwise redundant) floppy drive slot!

Have you ever thought about changing the way you get paid?

I use my bank to deposit cash and the very rare cheque in and that's it really - I'd say once every few weeks to pay cash in and maybe one cheque every year in, if not less frequently. I can do everything else over the internet or phone.

I'd be quite happy if you could deposit cash using ATMs. That would probably reduce my waiting time in the queues greatly.

You can...at limited ATMs in some places. i think the max is £250 though.

I get paid in cash, so obviously have to visit the bank frequently.

It would suck for me if my local bank went

Bank footfall is of course decreasing, but it isn't just old people that use them.

Businesses account for a large number of counter transactions and there are plenty of younger people who use branches for a variety of things. The notion that banks are just filled with old people is very far from the truth.

Yes, and it is mostly a lot more expensive. So I will not do it.

I am getting more customers who will use BACS/e-banking but I am not going to go down the CC route.

It is Cash, Cheque or BACS only for me.

Are you factoring in the time it takes you to process the cash/cheques into how expensive the payment method is? It might not be so expensive then.

This isn't going to help the parking near Natwest in Wrexham any better! Traffic around the bus station is already chock a block.

You know you can post cheques to you local branch for paying in don't you?
