I am thinking about treating myself to a pair of new Astro A40 Gaming Headset with Mix Amp Pro

I am using a pair of Turtle Beach PX 21 + Ear Force DSS Dolby Surround Sound Processor . Would it be worth the upgrade ?

I have the A40's and also the A50's and I've been very happy with them and there was certainly a big jump in quality from the cheaper headsets.

In 2011 I went from some TB X11's with DSS to A40's with a mix amp, no regrets.

There was a massive difference in audio.

I've owned both pairs and much prefer the sound of the A50's. The A40's didn't have enough bass for me although they still sounded great.

I kind of agree, my A50's sound better than my A40's (to me) but my A40's are older and has the old Mixamp which doesn't have the sound settings. I assumed the new version of the Mixamp and A40's would be very similar to the A50's.

Having said even my old A40's are still really good.

I've got an old pair of A40s and have considered upgrading to the A50s

Been put off however after being told by a mate that you can't charge and use the A50s at the same time ? meaning if they run out of battery you have to put them on charge and just leave them to charge ?

The batteries last a fair time in the A50's but you can charge and use them at the same time, I've done it quite often.
