Hi mrpetrov,
Our AORUS warranty is global, so yes it will be covered. Service may be affected slightly if service carried out in different country to that which the unit was purchased (ie if parts needed such as keyboard), but yes the warranty covers you.
Are you in US, or travel their regularly?

Gigabyte UK NB Team
Are there any games that you play regularly that you would like us to try and test and publish results?
Thanks,
Gigabyte UK NB Team
Would you be able to test Star Citizen at full res and optimal res?
I know its not released yet, but to get an idea if its playable then this could be my ZenBook UX301LA replacement.![]()
Thanks for the response. I travel there regularly, any reason you wouldn't recommend me buying it there or other things for me to consider, other than warranty?

Hi Scorpuk,
Sorry to say the game you requested testing doesn't seem to be scheduled for release maybe as late as 2016, so we cant get hold of this for you...
Sorry but hope we can post some useful results over the coming days/weeks that will be of interest to you.

With regard to Aorus' global warranty in the UK, I can't say that I have been impressed with the way in which it is currently being handled by Electronic Partners at their Telford centre.
My 3 week old Aorus X3 was working beautifully until it experienced what I believe to be GPU hardware issues.
I was initially met with a blunt refusal for a RMA until I managed to talk to the customer service manager who was understanding of my situation and thankfully allowed me the opportunity to provide the necessary evidence (https://www.facebook.com/AORUSGaming/posts/1791004911125346) that backed up my claim for a warranty repair.
My point is that I do not understand why Electronic Partners were not aware of the afore-mentioned fact in the first place. Had I not been so fortuitous in finding that piece of evidence from a Google search, the 2 year global warranty would have been rendered null and void.....all because of a misunderstanding.
Moreover, parts of Electronic Partners' UK website apparently still seem to be under construction. As such, it is impossible to track RMA status of repair online from an end-user's perspective. The only way is to phone them up and I was put on hold for 40 minutes the last time I called.
The warranty repair supposedly takes 14-21 days to fulfil. 7 days have passed since they received my notebook and it still has not even been assessed yet, which is disappointing.
I cannot fault Aorus as a brand because my X3 notebook was my pride and joy for the 3 weeks that it was in a working condition. However, I cannot say the same for the RMA process![]()
Hi metamorphoses,
Sorry to hear that the service you have received hasn't met expectations, sometimes there is confusion, but we strive to remove this from the process. We have contacted the service team this morning to request an update on your machine, we used your FB link to identify your name. I believe the service manager will know the case by the fact that your machine was purchased in USA and this evidently is the first time they have dealt with a unit purchased outside of the UK.
Apologies for the confusion and we will endeavour to update on progress asap.

Hi,
Do you know when we're likely to see any independent reviews or benchmarks for some popular games (e.g. have review units been sent out?). I'd love to get my preorder in but i've been bitten by misleading SLI benchmarks in the past .
It would be great to know what average frame rate we can expect for games like Witcher 3 at high/ultra settings. 3DMark scores are ok but something real world would be better info to make a pre order decision with.
On the surface it looks like it could be all things to all men at a good price. The X7 was a little too big and the fan noise make it a bit anti-social to use in an office, the X3 high resolution on the small screen made it a no go for day to day dev/productivity work. This does look like the baby bears' porridge of gaming laptops, the following are the only concerns for me (and i imagine most ppl who want a laptop for work and play):
- Real world benchmarks (fps at high/ultra presets)
- Battery life at mid-high demand (running a VM or playing a game)
- Comments on fan noise and thermal throttling (I appreciate we might not get answers to this until independent reviews are out).
Any advice on the above would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary
Actually I beg to differ about the X3. Its sleek look is professional enough to sit in an office environment without attracting the wrong type of attention for garish aesthetics. Hook up a X3 to an external monitor and get the best of both worlds. That's what I had been doing until recently.
Hi Atom80,
Thanks for the response. Is there any way to continue this more privately please as I do not wish to derail the thread further with my grievances about the warranty procedure?
Just to clarify, I was not the original poster of that FB message; I was merely lucky enough to have found it via Google and forwarded the information to the customer service manager after I was initially told that I was not eligible for a RMA.
You mentioned in post#28 to buy from re-sellers such as OcUK from a service and after-sales standpoint. I certainly will not disagree with you on that fact as I am currently finding this out the hard way. My Aorus X3 was purchased privately so I was unable to get a reseller eg. OcUK to handle the RMA process on my behalf. As an end-user, I can tell you that it is significantly harder, especially when met with hurdles like Gigabyte tech support claiming that the Aorus brand is not manufactured by them and telling me to seek help elsewhere in a support ticket.
