British people and coffee shops

I've seen every shape, size and colour working in them. The nationality really doesn't matter at all. Time to move on...

this, and the sooner they get over their misplaced sense of entitlement the sooner UK Plc will get on and do better
last I checked unemployment was really low 5.4%

america 5.5%
france 10.6%

oh yea brits are so work shy

you never see british kids working in poundland , mcdonalds , iceland , tesco , asda , morrisons etc....

oh wait..

The coffee shops that primarily employ foreign women are clearly only interested in their appearance

Such racism in this thread!

Too right, the only unemployed Brits who aren't desperate for work of any sort are criminals who use the dole to get housing benefit that pays their rent and a once a fortnight splurge, no one can live on £70odd a week without a criminal supplement.

You don't get good coffee from the chains, regardless of which Country that store is in.

Or good tea. Sure the bags are fine, usually Earl Grey or Twinings Every Day, but the quick dip and milk they serve isn't correct for a good brew!

Thankfully most simply drop the bag in and you infuse how you please.

Presto and Prett's teas are really nice, the mugs you have a tea in must add something to how a hot drink tastes.

There's a lot of variables to consider with benefits. In some cases you can get a lot more.

All the coffee shops in my area have members of the indigenous population working in them and very nice people they are too. No furreners in these parts!

Only one Costa in the whole of London pays its staff the London living wage. That's why you don't see British people working there. They can earn more working elsewhere.

Every coffee shop I've been in down south (not vast amounts, but perhaps 15 or so) have been staffed by people I'd say were British. I guess it depends on where you are.

Living with an imaginary pink elephant and so getting disability allowance and being claimed unfit for work and then nominating a family member as a carer, so they get carer's allowance.
Some communities use a sort of subletting triangle scheme where they all rent from each other and the taxpayer foots the inflated rent bills.

Never noticed this and I think it's nonsense anyway, every Gregg's I enter has British staff locally but I would rather work in a coffee shop then serve pasties all day and I'd imagine a lot of people would feel the same way.

Anyway, I drink tea, even in coffee shops. :D

Some companies have the stereotype that we as British people are lazy and thus wouldn't even get looked at compared to our so called cheaper and more reliable foreign counterparts.

Just the way it is, life is unfair for most.
