GTX 780 still a good card for 145 used?

the 780 is a solid performer.. Cant believe i managed to sell my 13 days ago for 210 pounds :)..

Either you have one of those friends who are a bit out of touch or you sold it on an auction site. In which case they'd have taken a lovely wet bite out of your bum and you won't get £210.

Ohh i got my 210, in cash and it was not to a friend. The guy even knew a little bit about tech.. I guess he was just impressed at the very well preserved 780 lightning with box and everything :P, cables in the original plastic bags untouched. Even the original protectors for the ports and the PCIe.

They do sell for stupid money outside the MM. I was offered £160 here, got £260 for it in the end. This was just after titan X was launched.

A good price for a good card, when mine go up (after fury's release) they'll be going up for around that price with blocks fitted :)

That's a fantastic price considering some on ebay are still going for up to £220 (EVGA SC ACX cards and such).

Ebay prices for used GPUs are no measure of good value.

Ebay prices are what desperate idiots pay. Right now I could get a used GTX 980 for around 350 on ebay. If I was going to buy a GTX 980, no way would I be paying that for a used GPU when 50 quid more gets me a split new card......only an idiot and/or someone who desperately wanted a 980, but really can't afford the extra 50 gbp for a new card would buy a used card at the standard ebay rates.

......but 145 is a fair enough price for a used 780....but certainly not a 'bargain' in any sense of the word.

I recently bought a 780TI for almost twice that... It is a Matrix Platinum, and it is at 1300MHz, but I still wish I'd got a pair of 780's instead if I'd known they were going for that money :(

I have the money for a gtx 970 but had one sold it ...sold a 290 on mm for 150 in my main PC ...sold x99 rig...so I'm left with a g3258 and 7950...

Today bought a 4960k on mm for £95 to replace the g3258 ...so looking to squeeze as much as I can out of my second PC....I figured a 780 would be perfect ...

I'm hanging on to my 780, at 144hz 1080p it's still a fairly strong card. I was tempted by a 980, then a 980ti... But at this stage I'm probably going to wait a bit and ride the next architural wave. TX is ludicrous, 980 is a rip off, and 980ti is last gasp. But in a second system the 780 is a decent purchase, although inevitably as with all things GPU that will change soon.

nicely said.

Bought one of Setter's 780s at £155 posted... wasn't for me as I have a pair of Titan Xs... it was for the son of one of my closest friends and he has been thoroughly enjoying it... coming from a Radeon 280X

£145 is a good price for a 780. The card is still a solid performer, just slightly less powerful than a 970 and with less vram. Although if you could get an r9 290 for a similar price then I'd probably go for that instead to be honest.

Mine were a rev1 and a rev2. Worked great in sli. Both reached very similar overclocked speeds despite being different models. Older card was a bit longer though and used 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin connection vs 2 8 pins on the rev2.

Using onboard graphics on the main system, (not that it's been on much). Second x58 rig has a 650ti but I don't game on it.

A better bet would have been the 970 when nvidia were offering 2 free games. I got the Gigabyte gtx970 for £245 sold the 2 game codes on ebay so a gig 970 for £210, what would be the point of a new dx11 card purchase when dx12 is out next month.
