SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £54.95 inc VAT

That will run your system fine even if you overclock the system, you won't be able to SLI with that PSU, so single video card setup only. Won't break the bank and a decent PSU for your needs.

Nothing wrong with that unit there, should do you just fine. You can also consider:

- BeQuiet
- Seasonic
- EVGA (10 year warranty)
- XFX
- Antec

Such lists are useless without specifying the recommended models. Be Quiet, XFX and Antec all spin a lot of worthless dross as well as some units that are actually good.

Only so that they can claim it on the box; mostly Capxon. It's an awful PSU for the price.

This is the review of the 450w version of the same PSU.

I'm not sure where you are getting your facts from but they are clearly wrong.

Some of us here work in the I.T industry and know what we are talking about.;)

The 550w version I recommended is even better inside than the 450w version reviewed above. As I said it's a good quality PSU that does not break the bank and will do exactly what he needs and it's a very efficient PSU too.

Yes. This HX line has nothing in common with the earlier Golden Greens, except the name. Like I said, a low move by Super Flower.

Can you prove this, with some factual evidence ? Not just statements you may have heard over the internet or concluded yourself.

You also seem to forget the PSU Price in this equation when recommending a good value and quality product. I can easily have recommended a very expensive PSU but that is not fair and when I recommend stuff I have either had experience with the item or I have done a lot of research into it from trusted and respected individuals or sites.

It's easy to say that's rubbish and that's good but without some reasoning behind it, it is not of value your opinion.

For a SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £54.95 inc VAT that is good value for money and a 5 year warranty too. It is a perfect fit for his current setup and as you may have noticed this person didn't spend a lot of money on the generic PSU that is causing him/her problems so I doubt they would want to spend a silly amount on a super enthusiast PSU.

Also some of us here work for our money and don't have parents that sponsor us, there seems to be a lot of young people on here recently that recommend stuff that is clearly overkill or clearly have no idea why that product was designed and for what use it was meant to be used in.

So do ask people that work in the industry and have a real understanding of technology, there are many good users on this site that give great advice and sorry to say there are way too many that don't too and recently some have turned into trolls and just repeat the same inaccurate information they have heard and giving information that is way overkill and a total waste of money and time.

Purgatory, the psu you linked to is the older 450w non-HX. The HX PSUs are a different line.

Spot the difference.

I dont know how different the internals are - I cant find a decent review of a HX anywhere....

neither of those are the 550w version but if the 650w is anything to go by:
In addition, the PSU scores with an effective 120mm fan. For inner workings: The 105- ° C condenser comes from Nippon-Chemicon from Japan, the remaining nevertheless still predominantly of CapXon.

then mururoa is probably correct about the internals of the 550w.

Complete nonsense, I had a SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W in a mining rig running two 290X 24/7 for over half a year, zero issues.

Yes, because "over half of year" is a reasonable period of time to assess the quality of a PSU; the bad ones explode within hours of installation.

It's rubbish sold to people who trust the name Golden Green stands for something, as it used to. Many reputable review sites haven't run their scoop on these, why is that you might wonder? Well, the companies are highly unlikely to send their bottom-feeding tosh to guys like Jonnyguru, who they know will give it a relentless spin around the block AND take a peek under the hood. Around where I live, some upstanding retailers who "don't do bad PSUs" straight up refused to take up this HX-series as they are simply not worth the spot on the shelf.

As I said earlier and as james.miller's quote indicates, these units come with a whole lot of Capxon's condensers; Capxon is cheap Chinese junk not to be trusted and not to be had in the vicinity of your valuable components; recommending such unit to someone looking to rid himself of a bad PSU is like treating an alcoholic trying cut his moonshine habit to a glass of vodka.

Well the actual temp is fine and also couldn't be the cause of the actual computer turning along if it's not orange verification or maybe challenging curly hair, My spouse and i skepticism oahu is the PROCESSOR, and so the final interface involving call up may be the PSU. My spouse and i have no idea a lot in regards to the one particular you might have although I would plead borrow yet another PSU to find out when in which fixes the idea.
