Hi - just wondering if anyone can advise me on a spec in the £800 to £900 range? It's mainly for games really. My current PC is in my signature. Is it worthwhile upgrading the monitor or just focus on the PC itself? I'd like to keep the case and I'll need a new OS. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers in advance.

Hi.

What monitor do you have?

Are you talking about the 650D case in your sig? and what about keeping the SSD+HDD?

Sorry I thought my monitor was in my sig. It's a Samsung 22BW from a few years ago now. I could keep the hard drives but was thinking of getting a larger SSD. Yes, the case is the 650D

I'd look at getting a larger SSD too. You can keep the HDD as well?

It'd be good to know what PSU you have, as it may need upgrading too. Also a new CPU cooler may be in order.

Why buy that bundle?

When you can get a Gigabyte SLI ready bundle for a tiny bit more,

Is there any thread you wont reply too? :D

The PSU is a Corsair 650TX

Good.

So keep that, case and drives.

The Gigabyte boards supports SLI (the asus above does not).

Added a new heatsink, but if you already have an aftermarket one that supports LGA1155+56 then thats the same as 1150 so you just need new paste.

Then that leaves money left over for win8.1 etc.

Yes.

If you play games then the 144Hz screen in my spec will be perfect, 24" and a standard 1080P resolution.

Also if you are not worried about looks then this GTX970 is £20 less and still has a high quality cooler on it,

The monitor I specced has a height adjustable stand, but that may not be necessary.

No.

Same performance.

Yes i do know this as I have these monitors:p

And to correct you on the differences it is full pivot/swivel/height adjustment and a built-in USB hub.

ha ha, not a correction I just noted one of the differences ;)

Is there anything you won't nitpick? :p

Cool - I'll order today then unless there's any reason to wait a week or so?
