Dear overclockers forums

Just purchased GTA 5 yesterday. However, my GTX 460 doesn't support it. Therefore, I need a new card.

My whole system is silenced (or very very quiet indeed, the loudest noise is rotation of the HDD). Therefore, could anyone recommend a <£200 card which would be suitable for GTA5 but silent in Windows?

Thanks

What resolution and what frame rates are you expecting? I think sub £200 for a quiet card to max out GTA5 is pushing it, at new prices at least.

If it's just silence at idle that you're after then that's not too difficult, low noise under high usage is expensive due to the cooling needed for it.

Don't need to max out the settings, just something that will work decent at 1900x1200.

Just silence in Windows. Don't mind background noise with my headphones on playing GTA 5!

Looking for a recommendation for a <£200 card.

4GB (more suitable for GTA5 because it's a vram hog) MSI Gaming 960 £200, job done. Good for 1080p and no AA. Fans don't spin in Windows so completely silent unless gaming.

I would seriously recommend you save up the extra pounds and get a 970. Way more powerful that a 960 - especially for the price difference.
