Hey guys. I was wondering if 50-55C on idle and 60-70C during rendering or streaming/gaming is normal for my CPU whilst having that CPU cooler? I'm sure my temps are higher than other people's but idk, you tell me :)

when i had my 6300 it idled in the 20s and load was around 40. it was overclocked to 4.5ghz and that was with a xigmatek aegir.

I only have the two stock fans with my antec p100 (one at front and one at back). I have room for two at the top and one at the front, i was thinking of filling all those spaces up with fans - would that help?

more airflow will help but you should clean the old paste 1st and put new paste on 1st as thats a cheaper route,

thermal paste is cheap to buy

i already have leftover paste but the thing is, disassembling the be quiet shadow rock slim and reinstalling it is a PAIN in the ass :/

As stated above. Remove and reapply the paste. You shouldn't be getting those high temperatures with that cooler.

any idea if the be quiet silent wings 2 would be good for my pc? also, i think my pc case sacrifices airflow for quietness and design as it has foam on the inside and the top vents are currently covered for some reason despite having holes there

im not sure about the cooler, but maybe you could put another fan on the other side of your cooler, but instead of buying a new cooler replace the paste with a pea size then remount,

for the case you could open the door so the front fan can pull the air inside

100% should look at replacing the TIM and remounting the cooler in the first instance....might be a pain but shouldn't take too long!

I have a be quiet pure rock and HAD a 8350 stock temps were at 38c load and at 4.6 it was at 55c, I was walking around saying it was the hyper 212 killer. Bearing in mind the slim is ment to be slightly better than the pure rock I would check your fittings and maybe voltages?

The be quiet fans are IMO as good as noctuas without sacrificing anything.

Isn't 70 degrees in or approaching the danger zone for AMD cpu's? I just had a look in the FX overclocking thread and most people's FX cpu's seem to idle in the low 20's and hit mid-high 50's even when overclocked.

Op, are you sure you have mounted the cooler correctly and haven't put too much tim on it?

Unsure about thermal paste, there might be a bit too much

I installed two case fans at the top (Be Quiet Silent Wings 2) and now the temps are at 44 degrees on idle and 52 degrees under load - is that safe? I will be replacing the front and back fans when I can as they're stock and kinda crappy
