So what's the cheapest option for taxis in London? In the past used Addison Lee a lot, but have heard they are over-priced. Have never used Uber yet, but not sure how it compares...the fact you can't book a time is a slight disadvantage, though not a massive one. I'm assuming Black Cab remain the most expensive option? Is using Kabbee a cheaper option as well?

As a bit of context - family is visiting at the moment for a bit. Dad is in a wheelchair so using public transport other than buses is difficult. One of the requirements of any taxi would be the ability to store a folded wheelchair, but don't expect that to be a problem.

Kabbee, although by the sounds of things by the time you're done cabbing around you could've probably hired a car for a bit more (although as I'm sure you're aware, parking in London is daylight robbery).

I avoid cheap cab companies having seen some of the bodge jobs carried out on their vehicles. Lots are basically coffins on wheels.

Uber. I use it all the time. It's also very very cheap and there's always a tonne of them so there in no time.

Uber. There's usually so many around that you're never waiting long so it's not such an issue that you can't book a specific time.

Yeah Uber hands down. My sisters been raving about it.. Very cheap compared to even a minicab.

The ULTRA cheapest option would be the Nigerian in the Datsun that will go anywhere for £20. Just close your eyes for the duration of the journey.

Always a laugh winding the taxi drivers up telling them how good uber is.

If you get referred by someone you both get £10 credit with uber too.

A black cab is likely to be more accessible than a random Uber car for a wheelchair user. I don't know if there is a way to specify that you need a larger vehicle as I haven't used the service.

I used to get those from Trafalgar Square late on Saturday nights out to Blackheath. Hairy journeys every time.

I'm not convinced the savings are that large and at least a black can is able to take a wheelchair easily which many private hires won't.

Get Uber. I've been in middle of london at 2am and waited a mere 10 mins for a driver.

Tried to use uber two times, one of them was at midnight on a Wednesday and there were none around.

I found Addison Lee and Uber almost identical price wise for longer trips.
