Looking for a new desk chair suitable for >6ft

Hey all.
I'm 6'3" and every comfy chair is somewhat ruined by having a head cushion that stops halfway up my neck.

I recently found this whilst in Ikea:

It is the only chair I have come accross of suitable height.
I liked the mesh as it means I'd keep cool but it really wasn't that comfy.

I currently have the Staples Microfibre chair that everyone raves about.
It is OK with regards to getting hot - Not the best but not as sweaty as fake leather (erugh).

What do fellow tall desktop users recommend?

It is a crap chair.

You have to order it through the official dealer I am not sure on the exact price, i estimate 500-750 depending on what addons you order, but could probably pay over £1000 for some of the chairs.

I've got a markus and at 6"4 it's pretty good.

Killed my back adjusting to it on the first day but was totally fine after that

I have a Herman Miller Embody and it's wonderful. No head-rest, though.

I'm 6'3" and have an Ikea Markus. It works for me. 6'3" really isn't a remarkable height!

depends where you live.

Where I grew up in notts I was tall but not freakishly tall.
up north in Newcastle it's rare I see someone as tall as me so I appear massive.

I'm not just tall though I've got naturally wide shoulders too something most tall people don't have so I guess I seem massive and not just lanky

Yes I've read them.

OcUK has comprehensively bought and reviewed every possible desk and chair combination in seven galaxies, there is no way you could buy anything that hasn't already got three threads discussing it.


So, either buy a MARKUS or wrap your head in bubble wrap and be done with it

Don't get that Ikea one, I've got it and after a little while it constantly lowers.

Used Steelcase Leap from eBay. If you're feeling flush with cash, there is a Steelcase Leap dealer in High Wycombe that will sell you a brand new one.

I personally bought a £200 mesh chair from Amazon UK a few years ago (and shipped it to the US) and it's been fine for me (I'm 6'4").
