Galax 970 gpu overheats

neither of those are the 550w version but if the 650w is anything to go by:

then mururoa is probably correct about the internals of the 550w.

Yes that's a bit cheeky if they are doing that :( and stating on the package they are Nippon-Chemicon caps and no mention of them containing CapXon caps.. You have to love manufactures that change the specs of a product on release or threw it's life cycle.

The HX versions still seem to get good reviews though so they are still good value for money if in testing they are coming out better than some more expensive PSU's.

Seems this review here states the Rosewill Capstone-550M PSU is basically the same PSU as the SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black
Manufacturers Code:
SF-550P14XE (HX)

They have more than one PSU with the same internals at superflower :-

Nah. OP already has one PSU of questionable credentials, he won't need another one. You can buy a much better unit for the same price or cheaper, no reason to endorse what Super Flower are doing. They have always spinned cheap junk with e.g. AXP/Xion as the OEM but trying to blur the boundaries between junk and quality by recycling the Golden Green name in such blatant manner is beyond shady.

Their Leadex and Arctic lines remain highly recommended, though.
