Company car leasing - £360 ex vat per month to spend

My deposit was paid in April for the c350e, but I have a delivery date of Jan, when is yours?

Ordered mine in early May with my local dealer who had one on order but unallocated.

Originally it was supposed to be 8th August delivery, (don't know when they initially placed the order for their stock), but been told now it's been put back to Sept/Oct.

Visited the dealer to test a C220 yesterday and he said that they have been told to stop accepting orders with the £5K contribution now as they can't meet the 9 month delivery which is a condition of the grant.

I went for the saloon in brilliant blue, premium plus, leather and 360 degree camera.

Can't believe I'm being told January, I brought this up with them last week when I saw I think it was your post before, and the dealer double checked and said January is realistic! Oh well can't wait, 0-60 5.9 secs woo

I have a Lexus IS300h, I have the maintainance package, that works out at about £410 per month, but without the maintainance it is around £350 that is for a 36 month deal, I'm sure a longer 48 month term will lower it a little. that is for 20k miles per year too.

Also the Lexus is a hybrid so only £75 a month taken for car benefit tax and it's 225bhp, petrol and does 50-55mpg on the motorway.

Be aware a 330d is going to cost you close on 300 quid a month in tax if you're a 40% tax payer.

The merc c350e referenced above is your best bet if it's on budget and you're in the 40% bracket. Even the most frugal of premium end saloons will hit you for 200 a month on BIK tax as the p11D will be over 30k.

There are no competitors in this space unless you go for hatchback (a3 etron or golf GTE) or don't mind something like the outlander PHEV. The is300h is a poor implementation and costs much more in BIK.

My IS300h BIK cost per month is only £75.

How are you getting on with this? Caught my eye when looking at possible company cars. I think you can get leases for around £300 a month now for the F-Sport.

Do you have any pics of the car in question?

Yes tax on a IS300h is approx. £149 per month as it's lowest spec is 16% BiK, higher spec'd models a little more.

With private fuel this rises to £260.

The Mitsi PHEV and Merc C350e are still only 5% which accounts for their popularity.

For instance tax on the C350e saloon would be £60 for a higher rate tax payer.

The problem with most of these cars though, the C350e in particular, is they combine rubbish petrol engines with the electric drive, which detracts from the appeal somewhat.

A real shame BMW don't do a plug-in version of the ActiveHybrid models they offer, all of which have a proper gearbox and a proper engine rather than an economy 4 pot.

It's the weight when you go with the big engines! PHEV really needs to be planned from the start whereas the hybrids can be shoe horned into existing platforms. Ideally the engine rarely starts anyway!

Depends on what floats your boat.

Personally the appeal with the C350e for me is 0-60 in 5.9 seconds with 5% BiK.

Besides the new C Class is a really nice drive, okay the 4 pot 211 hp petrol engine might not be the silkiest but one could buy a fair few music cds each month from the tax saving to lessen the slight noise intrusion :)

Agree. To be honest I'd only touch a company car now if it was a hybrid that fell into the 5% bracket. The higher end of the market gets extortionate even with the low CO2 cars.

Some 40% BIK examples from my recent musings. Based on a 3 year lease with December '15 delivery (my scenario) and CO2 payments average out over the next 3 years.

- Audi A3 1.4 TFSI: £165/m
- A220 CDI AMG: £180/m
- Volvo V40 D4: £150/m
- Jag XE 163 (99g CO2): £190/m

- BMW 328i - £290/m
- Merc c350e: £103/m

Take the money and run!
