Final Fantasy VII Remake

I'm gutted, for the wrong reasons. I want them to focus all development on the new games, not rereleasing the same one again.

Is it a remake or a reimagining?

Cautiously optimistic.

The teaser does say "remake" at the end. I have a bit of a horrible feeling that Nomura is going to update it for the worse though. All of his projects he's been involved with since Advent Children has the same combat of people super jumping around everywhere like rabbits. Honestly I'm not a fan of that style, so I really hope he tones it down for this.

Also I'm nitpicking here, but I was expecting Barrett's arm gun to be more birthday cake like in appearance, like his first weapon is originally. I almost didn't even realise it was him. I guess they've gotta make it look cool though...

Wow, Shenmue 3 now this? Nice!!

It would have to be on the PC for me. Though I would probably get a PS4 to play it again and sell it when done probably.

I'm unsure as whether this is a good idea or not?

Well, a few years back an interview with the director of the original game said a remake was on the table but they feared they would change to much because they'll have a different approach to how they felt during the development in the 90's.

Temptations to change certain parts or take out parts and even create new content.

I guess they feel confident enough to go ahead with the remake.

I am so happy.

I have no interest in getting a console, but if this was an exclusive, I would consider getting one!...I just hope they don't change too much. Hell, I would have been happy with just an HD version.

It is very hard though, to imagine all those iconic scenes that I know so well in a modern engine, voiced etc!

Best news in gaming for a very long time for me, best game ever made. Looking forward to telling my granddad he will love this :)
I can only imagine the cost, copy of CE, ps4 with final fantasy 7 theme (just guessing) CE book.

Hopefully won't be exclusive on PS4 for very long and a PC release comes within a month or two. Otherwise I'm going to have to get a ps4 for one game. Mind you I got a PS1 just for FF7 and ended up playing other games on that one so maybe not such a bad thing.

That's what I mean when I say reimagining as there are already little differences appearing, I just want the same with graphical update.

If he ***** with the combat system I'm not even touching it.

If either of these happen, I will sell my house to create a replica of the buster sword and a one way plane ticket to Japan, and slaughter every single person responsible. </PsychoFanboyMode> :p

This is the immediate problem, so many of us see this game through rose-tinted specs that anything changed that is considered holy ground will end in a peer-review massacre!

How about they change the materia system, but don't kill Aeris? Decent trade off?

I would like to see a lot of the original score used too, for it's time it was excellent and a big part of the nostalgia for me.
