Final Fantasy VII Remake

It will be impossible to please fans. We want a remake, but also for them to change absolutely nothing... Inb4 they just release the exact same game but rendered @ 1080p.

I want the exact same game, but with fully 3d backgrounds, high polly models and modern lighting and effects etc.

Actual gameplay mechanics don't need touching.

Basically this. Although I'm not sure that's what we will get whenever it surfaces.

If they change the battle system and materia system then they may aswell not bother remaking ff7 and just create a new game instead

omg omg omg yahoooooooo omg omg best game ever better be a good remake and a big gamble as if they get it wrong going to **** off a lot of people

I hope it gets the Resident Evil 1 treatment if anything. Completely new areas, characters and layouts. It made a great game so much better.

I don't mind if they change it, but keep that as a separate mode. There must be an unchanged mode. Everything exact, but updated graphics.

The only change should be graphically, same script exactly even with translation errors and mistakes. Voice acting would be acceptable with options to disable it, perhaps English/Japanese language if they do add it, I'd be happy with or without.

There will always be an army of over the top fans picking every little aspect apart though whatever we end up with.

If either of these happen, I will sell my house to create a replica of the buster sword and a one way plane ticket to Japan, and slaughter every single person responsible. </PsychoFanboyMode> :p

Brutally honest? I doubt true fans who hold FF7 high in most treasured games and memories will like it.

It's getting voiced characters although fantastic it'll half the game's playtime as you spent hours just reading, how do you think I learned to read? :p

Personally, I don't think it will recapture that emotion we all had for that game and we all had our interpretation and feel for the game. We gave them voices.

I think we should treat FF7 Remake as another game and try not to compare it to the original FF7.

EDIT: I have a suspicion that the voice cast from Advent Children will be cast in FF7 remake. Don't quote me for it though.

Honestly I think that the camera angle is the most important aspect they need to get right in order to capture the feel of the original. Keep it as it was and make everything look shiny, and they are half way there imo.

Errors and mistakes? Wat

Indeed, but I think we'll see new content and extended stories and sadly although I wouldn't past them a new fighting system based on the older turn based style.

If they could incorporate content from Crisis Core (prequel to FF7) and include all the lore that's been released around FF7 I'll be more than happy.

The music/OST is ready as it stands, check out The Black Mages

The Black Mages was fronted by Nobuo Uematsu himself, they released three albums. All fantastic albums if you're a fan of rock/metal and of course Final Fantasy.

Actually, incorporating some of Crisis Core would be interesting. I know it is a PSP exclusive that not many people played, but I really think it has one of the best soundtracks ever.

Aye I've only seen snippets on Youtube, but when Cloud is having his trip down memory lane in Nibleheim that would be a time to introduce content from Crisis Core.

Make the end game weapons harder, and allow summons to be more than watching a cgi. Couple of improvements I can think of.

Keep all the dodgy translations. Aeris should have been Aerith.

Please don't kill me for this.

I love FF7, I mean really love it, it was my first video gaming love, nothing will ever be able replace it in my heart - but video games have moved on a long way since then. An identical remake, no matter how good it is isnt going to hold up against the games of today. I fell in love with FF7 because of the way the story unfolded infront of me, but I know that story now, and no matter how it looks its just not going to be the same. I know I take my life into my hands by saying this... but a re-imagining really might not be a bad thing.

Aye and I hope this is what they will be attempting to achieve, not just a remake but a 2015/2016 take on the same story.
