*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I can see what they are trying to do with the art style in Starfox Zero and I'm kinda warming to it now.

The game runs at 60 FPS (and has to render a secondary view on the gamepad), so I'm fine with the compromises to texture/model/etc quality etc. Like with Bayonetta 2, I dont really care about those technical details while playing this kind of game.

I had a lot of fun going for medals in Starfox64. Zero seems to stay loyal to those traditional shooting mechanics, so as long as all the (new) gameplay elements come together well I think it'll be fun and should have great 'replayability'.

Boss gameplay (video quality not great):

Honestly Nintendo would have been better off not doing anything than doing that rubbish conference. I lost all confidence in Nintendo when they released the Wii U and they are not doing anything win back my support which is a shame.

Starfox fps clearly dips down from 60fps on numerous occasions during the Treehouse session - it aint a locked 60fps that's for sure. The game looks and runs like an Xbox 360 game - which is an insult to the Wii U's capabilities imo.

I dunno - maybe it'll get a visual bump like 3D World did - that look like ass in the run-up to the release then suddenly the visuals started to impress. Maybe you need to see it in the flesh?

Very depressed with that E3 - they brought nothing. It was 60% filler and most of what we did see we either A) saw before or B) never asked for in the first place.

No wonder Iwata stayed in Japan.

tbh I'm hoping they are putting all efforts into the NX. There's a good deal of Nintendo fatigue going on at the moment - I see it in every gaming forum I frequent. It used to be that Nintendo games were so good that it was worth owning the hardware just for them - that isn't the case any more. They're just not releasing show stoppers anymore. We're getting fillers and reiterations.

They've been like that for a while IMO

Agreed. It's just the further we move away from the N64 in time the less sway it has! Nintendo have to prove themselves all over again to me now. I want a proper Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime! (and F-Zero, Pilot Wings, Star Fox etc). Get that right on a new console, Nintendo, and we can speak again.

I had every Nintendo console until the Wii.

I just was not my thing and the Wii U looked interesting but doesn't really have the games for my liking.

I would love a Nintendo console in the vain of the Snes or N64.

I still imagine the potential the N64 would have had if they had just used CD-Roms! :p

But think what would have been lost. The uber fast loading times - back then the PSx took years to do anything! - and the nice clean 3d gfx. They would have been replaced with the horrible grainy, weightless 3D we had on the PSX. CD bought many benefits and was obviously the way forward, but I firmly believe the N64 and the great games it had would have been lessened had they moved away from carts.

Hold the phone - have you guys just seen that Smt x FE treehouse?!

Holy moly - it's unbefrickinleivable!

Almost redeemed.

Very, very disappointed that there was no new video or news on the next Zelda for Wii U... I am however very excited for star Fox

The N64 had a more powerful chipset, the grainy would not have happened. the space limitations clearly held them back hence the reason they developed the 64DD prior to N64 release. Yeah the super quick loads were great

Zelda will but I can see it doing a Twilight Princess and being on both Wii U and NX.

Which is just annoying. By the time the NX comes out we'll want an uber great looking Zelda, not a port. I'd rather Nintendo just put a nail in the WiiU and put everything they have into the NX.
