*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I'm just wondering if the all the packs in the legendary edition come as separate codes or one big code.

Reason is I only need the taken king and could give the rest to my nephew who really wants the game.

seems a waste to by it now when I could do the above.

Anyway I'm up for the nightfalls or poe tonight if anyones on.

Midgen, sorry I couldn't make it last night, unavoidable.

I'll be on at 7pm for nightfalls mate so save me a couple

Neither of those are for the DLC by itself. They both include the original game and DLCs. Xbox store already has the Collector's Edition up for £75 so I'm guessing it's a good indicator of the price.

They really need to nerf hand cannons in pvp. They have made every other gun pointless. Trying to do the bounty for 15 kills with a fusion rifle which should be easy with the Vex but constantly getting melted by thorn, hawkmoon or last word and it seems everyone is using hand cannons. It took 3 games to do it and I couldnt go positive yet switch to my hawkmoon and easy to have a positive kd.

Yes it's really annoying. I have to keep trying to get kills with a void weapon and I can only seem to manage it now and again using a fusion rifle. It's really frustrating being killed by Thorn all the time.

I wonder if it will give you the base game now if you buy that. Thinking about what to buy

It's only the exotic ones, but yes Thorn totally ruins PvP ATM, I've given up now til they nerf it.

Doesn't help that auto rifles are useless too, cos they counter hand cannons pretty hard due to staggering when DPS is more balanced.

Exotic hand cannons need either a range nerf or a damage nerf. Don't care which.
PvP really sucks when a handful of weapons destroy every other gun in the game, makes it really stale.

Some of it could be that your used too the hawkmoon, I switched to red death and mida tool before and after an hour I was about even, actual liked red death more on my Titan then thorn as the fast recovery meant I could get a few kills pretty easily without having to stop and wait.

I use oversoul edict in PvP, seems to hold its own against the hand cannon users, 3 burst fire helps with the critical hits I think.

Just got my last word to 365 so I'll take that in to PvP sometime ;)

last word is a noobs weapon it takes no skill to use IMO. hawkmoon is the true skillers hand cannon where you actually have to pick your shots and aim properly. thorn is far too powerful for what it is and another noobs weapon, the burn or range needs to be nerfed on it.

i would leave hawkmoon alone. i would decrease the stability of the last word. no way should someone be able to hit you in the head from 30 feet away without aiming and just spamming the trigger. it should be a lot more unstable than what it is especially since your not aiming it and spamming the trigger all the time.

i would put vex back to before they nerfed it last time round.

you can use thorn and the last word on any map because they are OP and take no skill to use.

red death though is great weapon, knowing that you can go from one encounter to the next without having to worry about your health is a god send.

if you want to get good at pvp though the gun i would recommend practicing with is hawkmoon. it takes real skill to use as you need to aim and you need to aim for the head to win encounters.

if you want to win by exploiting the mechanics then run thorn, sniper with final round and a rocket launcher with tracking and horseshoes. i think i'm just peeved i never got into sniping in PVP before. having one of those snipers now would be like taking candy from a baby.

Yeah i got Thorn last week and prefer my Hawkmoon for pvp, it feels like i actually have to work for my kills rather than just cheese it.

That and nothing is better than seeing a big damage headshot which one shots someone.

I wouldn't say they take no skill to use, that's going a bit too far I think. I reckon the exotic ones do need looking at though, for me shave a bit of the damage off, knock the range of them down a lot and make the damage drop off more at longer ranges like they did with the auto rifles. Maybe make the thorn damage over time a chance in PVP, and not a sure thing.

Didn't they tinker with the accuracy of them in the last weapon patch too? Maybe they should look at that again.

The range last word kills me at sometimes is ridiculous, like scout rifle range, same thing with thorn from time to time and from what I've read and watched Hawkmoon is also a bit of a long range monster in need of toning down a bit!

Thorn is the most frustrating weapon on pvp, I'll win a 1on1 battle only to die 2 seconds from the burn. Also the range on it is nuts.

These are the changes they made in Feb, doesn't really affect Thorn as it burns at any range

HAND CANNONS
Changes:
Reduce effective range
Damage falloff starts closer to the shooter, and follow up shots are less accurate at long ranges
Slight reduction to initial accuracy
This is unnoticeable at close to medium range, but underscores the range intentions when used from far away

What on earth are you talking about LOL? Why do a large percentage of all top players use Thorn? It takes skill like any other hand cannon. Unlike Hawkmoon, you need to sacrifice either stability or range when upgraded. Hawkmoon has better range, hits harder, staggers when it hits and also has the ability to one & two shot. Unlike Thorn which requires two headshots and DoT to kill as quickly as possible.

Can you please stop with the bad advice. It's rich coming from you because quite frankly you're a very average player at both PvP and PvE. If you keep dishing out the bad advice, someone might actually listen.

Harsh

I really struggled when I tried the Last Word in pvp and found Hawkmoon much much easier to get kills with.

Maybe I was just doing it wrong? :)

It's not harsh at all. He constantly hands out poor advice, with absolutely no logic or factual information to back up what he's claiming. Then, instead of entering into a logical discussion or debate about a key point, he'll completely ignore you. It really irritates me because some of the new OcUK players might actually listen and follow his advice.

He talks like OGRE2, but plays like xx_NooBKilleR_xx.

:p
