Chris Evans to host top gear

Shallow entertainment which has forgotten it's roots.

Becuase it's roots were boring and are better served by YouTube and looking at things for yourself.

I don't want to watch car reviews on primetime television. If I want to know if Car B is worth buying i'll test drive it or watch countless YouTube reviews.

Abu Hamza for the 3rd slot? Ticks several boxes and I'm sure they can adapt cars for his hooks. He'll cover the "which vehicle is best for a suicide bombing" demographic.

LOL Clarkson has reportedly given Evans some advice that cannot be aired on radio or TV!

Likely "Do not thump your producer unless you can get away with it"

Sorry but its a sad day for me! Evans NOOOOOO ARGGGGH! Jodie Kidd... why?

All we need now is Nick Grimshaw and it will be hell on earth lol.

Grimmy isn't all that bad, listen to R1 Breakfast on my way to work in the mornings and its better than the rubbish other stations drabble on about

Bluntly put, I'll watch it because it will still be a good show. I don't mind Evans and he's certainly far better qualified than most - indeed I'm struggling to think of anyone who'd be better.

A leftfield choice for one of the co-presenters or even the Stig... Sabine Schmitz? Is she too unBritish for a regular role on the BBC? :p

I wouldn't argue with Plato either. As much as I love seeing him lose in the BTCC, he'd be entertaining on TG, if only to see him and Evans having a bitching contest. Heck, throw Matt Neal in their too for some proper fireworks. :p

I agree, the music is mostly meh, but both his and Greg's drive time shows are fun, but the problem is that I can't even imagine Grimmy driving at all. I struggle to even think he's got a driving license.

Yeah like I did with the M135i. I account for for almost half of the 2 million views that rs3 v m135i Chris Harris vid got lol

Yes he is, he is easily the most irritating sound that a radio can produce. It's basically an obnoxious camp whining noise with the intellectual content of a slug.

Can't stand Chris Evans and the only other person I find equally as annoying is Plato. If them two are on it then I couldn't even bring myself to watch one episode to see how rubbish it was.

If you recall, the BBC have a policy of including women presenters now, so I'm sure the new TG will have one. Old TG used to have lots of female presenters, Kate Humble did it, and it gave Vicki BH her first outing, so it's not really a problem. As much as I like Jodie Kidd, she really wasn't great in the studio segments of Classic Car show; you..just..wanted..her..to..hurry...up. She was much more relaxed in the outside pre-recorded bits.

I like Evans, so hopefully he can do something fresh with the format, but all this talk about Grimshaw? Ugh, that makes me physically shudder.

As May and Hammond aren't on board I would imagine that lot have got something good up their sleeves.
