Hmm, I did somehow manage to miss that...

I really hope the battle system remains the same. Real time hack'n'slash would be horrible. :(
 
There will be changes - my hope is they clean up the story abit as its all over the place at times; and it can't decide at pretty key moments to be serious or light hearted. combat will most likely be changed with the core mechnanics staying similar or the same.

There was a lot of issues at Square when this was made and it reflects in the writing of FF7.

Personally I'd love to see FF8 remade after this; its a better game to me than 7.

But all time favorite is 6 - and damn if that wouldn't be love as literally does have the best storyline of any FF game; characters are awesome and you can sooo break the game with the wilde child :D

But yeah, FF6 is an amazing game. I think people just tend to differ on their favourite. Final fantasy 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 were all amazing and I'd love to see them all remastered. Went downhill after 10 :/ Really surprised they are opting to go with an active style combat system for FF7 remake when it's clear that their golden age 6 - 10 games were far better based on turn based.

I'm going to withdraw from the internet when it comes out, because there's going to be so much hate for it and I don't want to be poisoned by it.

FF7 you'll need to download from a ROM website, then you'll need a PS bios which is the same region as the game.

Either buy EPSXE or FPSE from Google Play or ya know, root the phone and go down the bad boy route.

Either emulators work well I've bought both, if you have a OTG cable you can use a USB pad which I think is compatible with both emulators as my XBOX 360 pad worked.

Considering the legality of it, in this case google is your friend.
 
I'm playing through ff9 on my phone atm. Its really quite nice to chill out on the sofa and put an hour in if I'm board.
 
My favourite game of all time. Hope this comes to PC with all sorts of graphical bells and whistles. The story is already there, and I for one, would not mind turn based combat one bit.
 
I don't mind them updating pretty much anything, and a tweak of the combat is fine by me so long as it isn't unrecognisable. HOWEVER...

I'm sorry, but that is just a really stupid thing to say. I'm really surprised, and a little worried that the guy who said it will be designing the game:eek:

BTW, my PS vita currently has FF VI, VII, VIII, IX and X on it!
 
Thread has inspired me to purchase the steam version of ffvii for another play through.

No idea what will happen with this "remake" will wait and see.
