Poll: Do you wash your hands?

I thought there were some studies that commercial hand gels actually did very little in terms of cleaning hands any way.

I'm not 100% sure about the gels, but with the soaps, a study was done and it claimed that they don't kill much bacteria, but the problem was that most people didn't know how to wash their hands. Might be the same case with the gels as well.

That will just break down your skin and lead you more likely to develop infection as the bacteria and viruses have more places to congregate in that will not be addressed by social hand washing.

I wash after. I also get some tissue and fashion it into a glove kind of thing and use it for the next few door handles. No point washing your hands and then just touching the toilet door handle and getting the germs from everyone else who didn't wash up.

I wash my hands properly after every visit, you know why? It's because I'm not a tramp.

How any one can evacuate waste from them self and not clean their hands after is beyond me.

I use hand gel frequently during the day. I hate my fingers and hands smelling of anything other than a fresh smell. So I'll use it after the toilet, after eating or just every few hours to freshen my hands up.

Not that, I recall it was something to do with the chemical make-up of gels not really doing much, especially as the alcohol content is low and evaporates quickly. Can't be bothered to try and find it.

I will wash my hands after using the toilet, but compulsively washing hands anytime you are near a sink or using gel throughout the day will do far more harm then good.

I don't generally wash them when I go for a ****, always wash when doing the other though. I'm not as OCD as some people on here with door handles and but I will use the back of my hands/fingers to open toilet doors and such

Why before?

I do wonder how good many of your immune systems must be, since it seems they must never come into contact with any bacteria at all!

In fact I get a distinctly Michael Jackson vibe from many of you. You know, oxygen tent to sleep in and all that jazz!
