Is it just me, or is BBC iPlayer rubbish?

HD always buffers on iPlayer for me, some days it's good and others it's horrible.

My connection speed is roughly 12mb/s and I don't have any buffering issues using iplayer (albeit through my sky box).

I have no idea if the player is rubbish but as it's only BBC stuff the content is surely rubbish.

ISPs, especially rubbish ones like TalkTalk will throttle video. They sell more connections than their infrastructure can support.

I think its safe to say: Ignore this guy.

Talktalk do not throttle video (or anything else) and have one of the largest highest bandwidth networks in the UK.

Never used it on the site/App, always use it through Sky which gives a much better experience.

I have no vested interest in them at all, i just know that their network is actually very good indeed. I honestly have no idea where people get the idea that it is slow/useless/whatever comes from!

Its a pile of steaming ****, if its not streaming issues its issues with flash or the browser. I basically stopped watching BBC content.

Where I am now I'm not paying the TV license, but when I get my own place again I'm not paying for it. BBC is rotten anyway and I'm no longer going to fund them!

I guess it's the assumption that cheap=crap

No issues on BT Infinity 2. In fact, it's never even buffered for longer than a second after hitting play.

Also for some reason, my cast button has totally disappeared from my iPad app. It's still on Netflix and streams to my TV, but it's gone from iplayer

Sometimes say on a Saturday teatime it buffers a bit, generally fine and I am on TalkTalk.

iplayer is consistently awesome for me, all HD titles, brill

4od on the otherhand is shocking, awful quality, endless adverts, rubbish service.

They don't get very glowing reviews from their customers.

If you actually bothered to research, you'd see the reviews come from TalkTalk's poor customer service. When the service works it works, in my view better than BTw connections.

And I've been on most ISPs so I can give a fairly balanced view.
