leasing a car

Also (forgive the questions - I have never leased), is it possible to get insurance to cover any minor damage during the lease period? Other than car insurance with the standard excess I mean.

When the financial costs for lease deals are described as 6+35, I presume that you have to pay 6 monthly rental amounts in advance followed by 35 months at whatever the monthly rate is? Is that advance a deposit? If so, is it returned at the end or is it just another aspect of the leasing cost?

The first payment is rarely called a deposit - it's an initial payment.

I swear I would rather put down £3500 on a 2007 Astra with clear service history and own it outright, tuck away £100 a month for repairs, tax, following years insurance etc then chuck money at someone else's car. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I would rather own an older fun motor than a boring brand new one that I could never personalise with and improve.

Maybe it's just me.

Are 2007 Astra VXR's only £3500?

Really?

Surely the only 2007 Astra's for £3500 are crap normal ones.

You realise it's 2015 right? 2007 would be an 8 year old car.

There are 1,331 Astras on autotrader at up to £3500 so I'm sure ther are plenty of non crap ones. Unless you mean all the normal ones are crap, in which case fair enough - the cheapest vxr I can see is 5k

Thanks for that.

Doing well today.

The point was that he would rather run an 'older FUN' motor. He then cited the Astra, somebody called him on it, and somebody else suggested the VXR was fun.

It seems fairly obvious to me.

The penny drops..

Are u one of these people that think cars of a certain age are worth peanuts just because there old:confused:
A 2007 VXR would cost at least 6k the same as a Focus ST would. Any fun quick performance version of a standard car always costs twice as much second hand as a normal one
