And excessive cleanliness not good for your immune system?! what utter nonsense.

its true though.
you are covered with bacteria and its perfectly healthy (there are more bacteria cells in/on your body than human cells) - if you kill all those it gives space for nasty ones to flourish.

really you only need to be concerned about faeces or raw meat, unless you have open wounds of course.

I wash after a wee wee at home and work as I know the facilities are clean. Not in a public/pub toilet as they are usually manky. Only ever do poo poos at home.

**** is sterile anyway but I don't want to touch dirty taps or door handles.

That's the thing though - barring the annual cold and one bout of food poisoning from a well-aged shop-bought sausage roll, I don't remember being ill at any point in my adult life.

I understand where you're coming from but I'm afraid it's flawed logic. You just have to look at underdeveloped countries with poor sanitation and where disease is rife to understand that you ought to keep clean where possible. Of course it's healthy to be exposed to germs to build immunity, a completely sterile living environment is impossible anyway. However, preventing a build up of germs and bacteria is advisable in order to avoid serious illness.

As already said, it's sterile until it has been sat in the atmosphere, then after a short while it will start developing wonderful colonies of bacteria.

When I was in school, I saw a video of a person washing hands with water, and then did a 'hand print'. Then washed with soap and water, and did the same.

A bit later, they showed all the germs and crap on the print with just water, and was pretty nasty. The soap print was so much cleaner.

Have washed my hands WITH SOAP ever since :P

I like those restaurants that have the sinks outside the washroom so people simply must wash their hands otherwise they will be walking in shame.

I was at a place similar on Friday and it certainly didn't stop a few people from walking straight out. :(
