I upgraded today from a note 3 to s6 Edge to find I need to replace my sim from a Note 3 to a nano sim to get it to fit. Has anybody on this forum found themselves in the same position and attempted to cut their micro sim down to a nano sim without any issues? Alternatively I would have to contact the 3rd party agent who previously provided the sim (Daisy Telecommunications) to get a replacement, which would take a week or more as the sim wasn't provided directly by Vodafone. Going in to a Vodafone shop or giving them a ring wouldn't help as they didn't set up the tarrif and Vodafone have no record of my number despite me having a Vodafone sim.

The actual contacts of nano, micro and mini sims are identical, you can just trim them down. You can buy special trimming tools to do it too. When I changed phone, someone in a Three store trimmed my sim from mini to micro for me.

If you want to do it with scissors, just make sure it is the right shape and you don't cut the contacts, and you'll be fine. The outer bit is literally just plastic.

It's just that when I looked at the templates on Google , going from micro to nano actually involves cutting, ever so slightly in to one of the brass bits corner's

Cutting is fine, you may have to file down a little to make it thinner. Just use one of them ladies nail filers or sandpaper on the non contact side
