Hello

My SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply,

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-SF&tool=3

arrived today and while it will fit with a tight squeeze its a little long and heavy for my crappy current Cooler Master case.

Can anyone recommend a good case that can accommodate this PSU for around £80?

It seems I could make it fit but I'd have to drill some holes in the top of the case or something as I cant see just the back psu screws supporting its weight.

Also is it safe to just straight swap motherboards etc also to another case?

Thanks!

The Phanteks is in keeping with your current case i.e no window etc and has all the room you'll need whilst being a solid case, if you want something abit flasher and can stretch £10 more the NZXT.

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT H440 Midi-Tower - Black / Green £89.99
1 x Phanteks Enthoo Pro Mid Tower Case - Black £79.99
Total : £182.28 (includes shipping : £10.25 Ex.VAT).

They both look great thanks!

I was thinking would I need a rail or a rack of some sort in the case to support this PSU as its fairly heavy, but I guess its the bottom based ones I'm after right?

Cheers!

Nope but both of those cases are bottom mounted PSU anyway. Don't think there's too many new 'good' cases that use top mounted PSU design anymore.

Fractal define S has bottom mounted psu and has rubber supports to take the bulk of the weight of the psu. The rear screws only hold it in place, there's no real strain on them and I'm sure this is the same for most other bottom mounted psu cases. My psu is the Evga p2 Supernova 1000w.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm thinking of getting the NZXT one and hopefully getting a Fury X I'm not sure about how to mount the fan though and if I could with this case, so might wait to get the card first before ordering.

Cheers

I'd reconsider the H440 and get the Pro to be honest if you are getting a Fury, the airflow in the H440 is quite poor and I expect the Fury will get pretty toasty! The Pro is much better for airflow and overall features.

Thanks for the reply Chug!

Will the Cooler for the Fury X mount ok in that case too, I'm not sure as I've never had anything watercooled?

Thanks again
I just hope I can now manage to get my hands on one Wednesday!

Yep, the Pro has plenty of space for watercooling setups and will fit that 120mm cooler easily.

Amazing delivery from OC as usual. Ordered at about half 3 yesterday and delivered by half one today!

Thanks!

Quick and dumb question but which way is best for the psu to fan to face? Going into the case or facing down and out as there seems to be vents for that?

Thanks guys!
