Comet was always labelled as an 'expansion game' so that link is still largely valid

ps3ud0

It'll confuse people referring to a 'Standalone Expansion', which it isn't anymore. It's DLC, you need the original game to play it, whether you have it already or buy it all in the Legendary Edition bundle.

Anyone feel like crucible needs another weapon rebalancing? It's definitely better since launch, but still ended up with some balancing issues.

I'd like to see hand cannon range reduced. The damage is fine but they shouldn't be popping people's heads at sniper range. There's very little point using a scout rifle at the moment because handcannons hit harder and have the same effective range.

Auto Rifles could do with a tiny impact buff to make them viable again.

Not sure what to do with Fusion Rifles....the appearance of long range shotguns and the increased fusion spread has made them a bit pointless.

Yup, I said the same a few days ago. I think you only have to look at how many people use hand cannons to see how OP they are. Obviously there are exceptions such as shotguns at close range or snipers at looong range but in in auto/scout/pulse rifle range, hand cannons will win everytime.

In most FPS I tend to use burst fire or single shot weapons so actually like using hand cannons but it would be nice to have the choice to use other weapons.

Yeah I'm fine with the damage, aim assist and everything on HC, the damage just needs to fall off at range in PvP sooner.

Annoying when you're scoped in on someone at pretty long range and they can still 2-shot you. Say on Pantheon you're at one end of the sniper alley that looks over near B in the middle. There doesn't seem to be any appreciable damage falloff at that range for hand cannons. The only advantage a SR gives you is a scope, but the HC aim assist makes up for that easily.

Does everybody know Destiny is down from 4pm to 10pm tonight for a 6 hour maintenance window ?

I think we have a couple of issues here:

Hand Cannons have become the new auto rifles. All bungie's balance changes have done has switched everybody from Suros Regime to Thorn / Last Word.

They need to reduce the range of hand cannons to make scout rifles viable again, and buff the impact of auto rifles back up to make them viable again also.

Then we have the issue with the older weapons that have extremely unbalanced stat rolls. Bungie knows this because you can't roll weapons with those perk rolls anymore. But there are plenty of people still running round with the old fell winters with BS range. These guns just plain need editing in the database so people can't keep guns with stat rolls that aren't possible any more.

Or just remove them and replace them with new guns that have balanced rolls and give the same roll to everybody that one with the BS roll.

I'll tell you whats confusing. Being asked to pay £40 for DLC. Its only when you reference the "comet" idea of it being a big stand alone expansion it starts to make sense. But in its current model it sounds stupid.

I think they've been pretty up front with Destiny not being a boxed game release with a couple of DLC packs and then a few years til the sequel, which is the usual model these days.

It's an on-going episodic model with a 10-year plan, regular releases every few months. I compare it to pay-per-month MMOs I've played and the value stacks up for me.

At least if you decide you don't wanna keep on paying for it, you can still play the stuff you've already paid for.

when compared with MMO pricing, it looks fair.

But I can't help feeling the content is too shallow to be favorably compared with an MMO however.

^****

Literally just shoved mrs out of the door so i could get a few hours on it haha.... Guess not... Damn, what a ****** time to do it, regardless of the yanks :p

does anyone use any other exotic other than gjallahorn in PvE?

obviously if you don't have it the question doesn't apply.

people complain about pvp a lot but they need to either nerf gjallahorn or buff every other exotic there is in pve.

i have stopped using the vex since the last nerf it's absolutely rubbish now. the only time i don't use gjallahorn is when there is arc or void burn on.

i suppose the exotic shotguns don't need a buff but all other weapons do.

I only really use Gjallarhorn for the raid/PoE bits that require it. Much prefer running exotic Primary/Secondary for most PvE content.....more casual style of playing so I just run with whatever I feel like. Queenbreaker's Bow is my current favourite!

I agree Gjallarhorn could do with a nerf as it's making their life balancing PvE content harder than it needs to be. Just nerf the wolfpack round damage so it's not like a double hit and quite so OP compared to the other launchers.

If you have the gjally and you aren't using it there is something wrong. I normally run a mix of fatebringer/vision of confluence with black hammer and gjally. Beastly PvE setup IMO.

See above, servers down for like 6hrs

Oh. Didn't see that because viewing on phone. :(

I need to cash in a queen's bounty before the weekly reset to get a treasure key.

Nice of Bungie to warn people about these server downtimes, isn't it.

I only use gjally on strike/poe/raid bosses. For PvP, my exotic is hawkmoon. Hawkawesome, Felwinter's Sniper, Hunger of Scrotum.

I don't get why they'd need to nerf it for PvE..? It's not like you're competing with anyone else so, if you want to use it, go ahead. If you want to use a different exotic, you can do that too! No-one is telling you you have to use Gjallarhorn.

For PvP it's a different story. There's certain weapons that you really have to use to be able to compete.
