non EU migrants to be sent home if not earning £35k after 6 years. hmm what about salary caps

I think using salary is the wrong metric for this,
anyone with a useful level of training in an industry that benefits everyone should be allowed to stay.

Imams, whether they are earning £35K or not, should be kicked out on principle.
It's like importing Rabies because we don't have enough dogs frothing at the mouth.

There are a whole host of professions that are paid well but are not something we should be importing from outside of the EU, gender studies graduates for one.

Don't care what they earn send them back. We have enough EU migrants to be dealing with!

Yes, because getting rid of the few Australian nurses that remain would be such a good idea considering they speak the language, are well trained and have a really good work ethic.

What principle, what if they were born here?

How does this make sense in your head? What rationale?

You don't get my point, no matter what you do or where you from it needs to be controlled.

I agree with what you are saying, but this free for all with the EU etc has got to stop.

We only a tiny island we need much stronger border controls.

£35k a year that's a lot of money, not sure where they going with that!

What free for all?

Controlling everything such that you turn around people who are able to earn a lot of money (read: make high tax contributions) and improve the UK workplaces they end up working for is a strange policy to say the least.

I guess you could retreat into a little island, pretend that we're living 100 years in the past and be suspicious of everyone not born here if you like. Let me know how that works out.

What free for all?
There is free movement of labour within the EU. Rightly or wrongly people are not happy with it to the point it has become a political battle front.

The announcement today is nothing more than an exercise in reducing the net migration figures by Cameron as he has previously promised he would.

He simply can not do anything about EU migrants, the only control he has is on those coming from outside the EU.

Is as an awful policy that is all about Cameron and the Tories and does nothing good for the country.

Sorry, my mistake I didn't think you had a point I just thought you was just ranting.

^ you missed out Gypos

What's wrong with letting people with a useful skill stay here?

That's the whole point of allowing immigration, to import skills we are short of in exchange for living in a nice country.
