Hey guys,

Allow me to swallow my pride before posting this :( *gulp*

I recently sold quite a lot of items on eBay. One item sold for £150 and in the confusion of sending what, to who, and when, I posted the item before payment was received. It was tracked, received and signed for by the auction winner, but I haven't received the money for it yet. Completely my fault I understand. I've messaged the 'buyer' 3 times and haven't heard back from him/her. Where do I go from here...? Is there anything I can do? He/she lives about 100 miles away..

The link above goes over the procedure, and although it doesn't mention anything about having already sent the item I imagine eBay will be on your side for this. I'd wager you'll get your money, even if eBay don't get theirs off the buyer.

:edit: Are you sure it doesn't apply for items that are already sent?

Quite sure. There no place for me to put the tracking number in etc as it just says something along the lines of 'Do not post until payment received'. Yeah, thanks eBay, I know that :(
Argh sorry I didn't read that part :(.

Don't ebay have customer services to advise?

I'm waiting on a reply.

Sorry all my searches have just led me back to that url:(.

Hope you get a resolution. I do agree with zefan though. If the buyer has won the auction and you've posted with proof theyve recieved I can't imagine ebay not helping out.

I appreciate you looking, thanks :)

Just playing devil's advocate: what if the buyer claims to have not received it? Or says, for example: the address on the auction is incorrect, can you post to a different address after I pay please as I've now moved? If this were true, the buyer would have no idea the item had been sent and received by someone..

Still think it would be their problem. It's not up to the seller to whack out their crystal ball each time to guess if the address is correct. I don't see how it could be your fault shipping to the address they gave you through ebay.

I've never used Royal Mail tracking does it state who signed for it?

Edit:

The buyer has conflicting addresses between eBay and PayPal. Which one do I use?
If there is a conflict between addresses listed on the PayPal "transaction details" page and the eBay "view order details" page, we'll consider sellers to have met their shipping obligations under eBay Money Back Guarantee if they choose either address.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/seller... between eBay and PayPal. Which one do I use?

As long as you've sent it to the address on file they can't do squat.

You could argue it doesn't matter, they should have confirmed their details at the point of committing to buy.

will be interesting to see how this turns out....

the buyer could say what you sent them was nothing to do with this auction. as if they have not paid why would you send out the item.

good luck, i hope they pay up.

Don't eBay police these kind of things? I know someone who bought something the seller sent the item to him but at the time his Mrs had there baby so he forgot to pay. Police came knocking on his door in the end.

Probably just a nice police man. No crime has been committed.

He could ring the police bit it would only be a curtsey call.

what will happen now is buyer will say item is faulty, put a claim into ebay and paypal will then pay him your money so he will now have your item and an extra 150 quid..............

ebay are retards who offer sellers zero in the way of protection. If you are lucky they might lube you up before asking you to bend over and take some man weasel................

If ebay dont help then contact the police in the buyers local error. The fact you sent the item doesn't change the fact that the buyer has effectively stolen the item from you.
