Anyone here able to provide a review on them?

Looking for a car to hire next week. And would like some info on them.

Used them a few times and no issues. They are probably one of the top hire companies so no need to worry really (although I found generally more on the expensive side).

If you have an AMEX (may only be gold reward card members), sign up to Hertz gold and if paying with the AMEX you may get upgraded to the next car up as standard.

Use them without any problems. Maybe a little more expensive than others but you get what you pay for. On Gold Plus Rewards so pickup cars at without any queuing.

Used them in Sardinia about 18 months ago, would recommend the Gold Plus Rewards as mentioned by others and definitely excess waiver insurance (I would rather pay ~£30 than potentially £1000 if something happened).
Also I think they're still on Top Cashback so don't forget to use that.

I imagine the Excess on any of the Dream Collection cars will be hefty to say the least.

I looked at another company (based in Berlin) to hire a supercar and was quoted something daft like an £8k deposit!

Isn't that what the holding deposit is for?

There's a security deposit sometimes held against a credit card, you'll be charged if there's an accident. I would rather save ~£1000 for the sake of £30 personally.

I see.

Have just received an email from hertz. They hold a non waivable amount.

I'm guessing that means I can't get the insurance.

Excess insurance won't cover the dream collection so you are stuck with the rental firms own insurance.

The dream collection cars are normally so expensive it's hard to understand why people bother. I once worked out that it was cheaper to fly to the USA and rent a mustang GT, Inc cost of flights, than it was to rent a 'dream' convertible for a week :D
