Upgrading fans on the H100i GTX

The SP120 quiets are quite loud on full whack, mine in the front of 750D are set to go up to 85% max

I'm tempted to just whack 4 SP120 Quiets on it in push/pull all running full speed, surely that wouldnt be that loud and would be able to run my I5 4960k at 4.4ghz same as now with decent temps?
SP QEs would be nice and quiet, yes, but other fans would still give far better performance for similar money and at around the same sort of noise levels.

Not gonna lie i wanted the SP120s mostly for Aesthetic purposes to match the rest of my corsair kit :p
Ah, well that makes ALL the difference, then!! :D

Honestly though, I would suggest the Performance Editions over the QEs. Whack 'em on a Fan Controller if you have to, but I really didn't think much of the QEs and would only ever use them on a low-performance/low-heat system like an HTPC where noise was more of a factor than keeping expensive components from overheating.

Im putting off buying a fan controller because i don't like running in the temperature probes myself, wish you could get fan controllers that you connect directly to the motherboard to get the temps from that

I've done 2-3 clean installs in the last few weeks mate nothing seems to be working. It's running fine and im happy with it without the link but if you can think of anything else for me to try then ill give it a go mate

I must say man, I'm really baffled with this. I'll see what I can do from my side and see if I can replicate it. You have Window 8.1 right?

Also, do you mind providing a screen shot of the options you have under that drop down group? Make sure to select one of the fans connected to the cooler.

Same here my friend, im a stubborn ****** and never normally give up but after googling different solutions and trying pretty much everything i gave up lol.
Im running windows 7 pro.
Which drop down group do you want the screen shot of? the H100i GTX fan?
I dont know if this means anything but on the group screen i can only move the H100i's fan, pump and LED to the group of the H100i's cooler temp, i cant put them on the group of the i5s core temp.

The probes only tape to the outside surface of components, like HDD or GPU, so aren't neccesary if you don't want them.
You'd still need to monitor the temp of the CPU through the usual software (I like HWMon), so might as well do the same for everything else and just alter fan speed to suit.
Mostly, you'll just be running them low normally and whacking them up for gaming/benching.

I'll give that app a look, what fan controllers do you recommend?

Well, I like complete manual control over all my fans, so I favour those with physical dials - I personally have the Lamptron FC6, which gives you 4 channels and displays temp (if you use the probes) & RPM, in a choice of different colours.
The one I wanted, but wasn't available at the time, is the FC5 V3 - Six channels, same display but with voltage too and easier controls. Bunch of other features, including an alarm when the temps get too high.

There are cheaper ones, touchscreen ones, or even programmable ones!
