Big monthly food shop... then.....

We do a weekly shop but I have realised that most of it will end up wasted as I forget what dates some things are or even sometimes forget to check in the shop. And then every few weeks we order take away like last night. I think every 2 days would be better for us but its already effort getting my boyfriend to go with me once a week...

We plan a week of meals and do one big shop on a Monday. Sometimes we require a top-up shop on a Thursday or Friday if there's something special we want for the weekend but otherwise once a week is fine.

Plan properly and nothing goes to waste. Screw going to the supermarket every day. Life is too short.

Weekly shop and my wife used to be a chef so I am well fed. Takeaway on occasion but never on the day of shopping.

Exactly, much better things to do with your free time. :D

most foods we cook are fresh, the monthly stuff is for things that last.

Pasta, tinned foods, crisps, gravy granules, stock cubes, a few frozen things, like chicken nuggets, the ASDA meal things, like chicken wrapped in bacon etc.
I do buy frozen prawns and use them to make various dishes
I do buy frozen minced beef to make home made foods, like spag bol, shepherds pies, home made burgers etc - these things are fine if you use minced meat that has been frozen.

I do not own a microwave, and I certainly do not buy "ready meals" urghhh, one they taste crap and two they really are not filling.

But we also tend to do a weekly shop too for fresh veg, and fruit, bread, milk etc.

The point I was making was more the takeaway thing.

Weekly shop in Asda for the big things, I'll stop at the grocers on the way home for veg if and when we need some.

I order online for a load of shopping - mostly frozen and canned stuff. I then buy fresh stuff on the day before we need it for whatever the wife decides she is cooking.
I get Takeaway every Saturday, I have a routine :)

I do a few shops a week. In fact, wife has just sent me a list to pick up on the way home as I'm away this weekend.
