after seeing the Voss water thread I remember something I wanted to ask a long time.

Back when I lived in Germany I used to drink this a lot

sadly it doesn't seem to be available in the UK, but I'm wondering if there is something similar?

taken from their website

"Active O2 based on pure Adelholzener mineral water from the Bavarian Alps has added oxygen for perfect refreshment without carbonation. The oxygen gives Active O2 its distinctive, highly refreshing flavour. Whether Active O2 Sport, Active O2 Function, Active Fresh or simply classic Active O2 – there’s something to suit every taste"

it's just still water with more oxygen :p

That doesn't make sense though. Water is H2O, or two hydrogen atoms to one oxygen atom. If it were H2O2 then it wouldn't be water (according to wikipedia it would be hydrogen peroxide - I don't fancy drinking that) It's all just marketing hype to fool people into buying it.

This is pretty much identical.

The extra oxygen is dissolved in the water, it hasn't reacted with it.

i'm guessing they are talking more added dissolved oxygen. :o
I don't know just wondered if something similar existed over here :)

I think it means the oxygen is molecularly dissolved in the water (along with other gases, mostly nitrogen). That said I still think it is a load of rubbish as one would expect the dissolved gas content to equilibrate with that of the atmosphere pretty quickly i.e. the dissolved gas content of the water should match that of the atmosphere (some oxygen, a little CO2, mostly N2). As far as i am aware the atmosphere's gas profile is relatively constant at most places in the world. Indeed, one could speculate that the partial pressure of oxygen in the alps would be lower than at sea level so it might actually contain less oxygen.
