Hello. I create topic cause i want to be sure , that all in my system is ok.
I am using 353.06 WHQL. So question will be about Witcher 3 performance using ultra details , hairworks and 1920x1080.
I am using reference 980 Ti.
So basically i have 60 fps above. But when i change time day to sundown , then my fps drops to 42-50 fps especially when i am in forests. Also i have found movie with somebody with Titan x and he get similiar fps.
So 980 ti \ Titan x is not enough for 1080p with hairworks?
Look at that movie, from second 2:10....dips to even 43 fps. So i dont understand peoples, who talking about playing smooth on 1440p with Titan X.

If you want hairworks and 60fps...you have to go SLI.

My 970's can do it at 1080p but anything higher than that and I lose the solid 60fps.

I am using 1920x1080 and with hairworks i have 44-45 fps in forests after i change time day to sundown or morning. Is this normal?

Even during fight with bear in forest ( during night time ) i get dips to even 35 fps.Using hairworks. Is this normal?
I have found a movie with somebody but with Gtx 980 . And i have only 6 fps more. But my card is Gtx 980 Ti stock. I am using 1080p, all ultra, hairwork

You've just repeated your opening post.

What is the GPU usage when the frames dip?

For what it is worth I play at 3440 x 1440 with all settings ultra, all post processing max and hairworks on and get fluid FPS. I don't actively monitor it* so it may well dip lower at certain points but it has never done so to the point that I have noticed it.

* I know if I did I would get distracted from the game by keeping an eye on it etc.

Edit: So yeah this isn't that useful to you as I am playing at different res and not got firm FPS numbers, but at 1080p I'd have thought you'd have very strong FPS.

I remember with witcher 2 that my FPS was severely limited in full screen mode so had to play in windowed. Believe this turned out to be an AMD issue but might be worth a try?

It looks like an optimisation issue. If your GPU is at 99% then it is working as hard as it can.

You need a better driver or a game patch.

Try 2560*1440 using DSR.

Sounds a bit low to me. I play at 1080p, everything on ultra except shadows on high with hairworks ON on my 980 and I get 50-60fps pretty much everywhere everytime. 60fps (vsynced) in most places dropping to low 50's during rain/sundown (heavy weather effect basically). It very seldom drops below 50.

My 980 is overclocked and boosts to 1450mhz but I would have though a 980Ti should hold 60 or more throughout at 1080p. In fact overclocked I would have thought a 980Ti should manage 1440p at a pretty constant 60fps.

Don't set him off Jono :D

He asked the same question 6 times in his last thread asking if his cards broken despite everyone telling him its drivers. He seems intent on one person telling him it is so he can send it back and ignore the other 20 people telling him it isnt
