295x2 or 980Ti?

If you think about it a 980 ti/ fury x still can't run even 1440p at 60 fps consistently. The jump to 4K is so big that it's clear it won't be anywhere near common for a few more years now.

I can see 60 fps still being unobtainable in the odd title at 1440 with high end cards 2, 3 or even 4 years from now.
 
Remember with a single gtx 980 ti you always pop in another one down the line whereas the r9 295x you are running 2 cards already and adding another one would destroy most PSU BUT there is a risk of Nvidia gimping the performane later
