His behaviour is probably caused by repressed attraction (he's a boy surrounded by women). Convince your cowardly coworkers to formally complain to your direct supervisor and the issue will be solved if the latter has half decent management skills.

If your management believe in collective punishment like you're still at school, and aren't taking your grievances seriously then just look for a new job. Even if this guy gets himself sorted out you will just be counting down the time until another issue comes along that shows your management to be completely ineffective.

This. He's trying to exert power over women he fancies.

That's how rapists start.

Oh, right.

In that case, go mental. Leave notes in his desk, cheeky winks, basically full stalker mode. Freak him the **** out.

He acts nice as pie when management are around but micro-manages and bullies myself and other (younger and more easily intimidated) staff members when left unsupervised. He is known for running myself and other staff members down behind our backs and I have been told by other staff members that he has said to them that he is aiming to have me fired so he can take my hours.

Sounds like he's just trying to fit in with all the women by acting just like them. ;)

An Australian complaining about "sledging"? A bit rich, especially as they invented it.

If it's genuine I have sympathy with you especially if you have an ineffective manager. I can advise you from experience to ensure you record everything, especially when you have spoken to your line manager and if necessary follow it up with a short memo and ask him/her to sign a copy for you to keep.

We had an instance where I last worked where one disruptive worker made everyone's life uncomfortable. The boss (75 miles away - we saw him once or twice a year) had been informed about the worker's behaviour either by phone or conversation and did nothing about it. When push came to shove and the Big Cheese (200 miles away) got involved the boss denied any knowledge. The Big Cheese then asked for dates, times ect, that information was NOT at hand.

OP, how did you come across this forum? It's a curious choice of yours as Overclockers is a forum tied in with a UK computer shop.

I would be searching for an OZ-based forum. They'll be able to provide better answers regarding local employment law than us UKers can.
