Our lawn is approx 16m2

probably 5 m long by 4m wide (give or take) with a thin(er) bit at one end.

I am assuming that given the small size I should probably be looking at electric rotary mowers ?

Any particular makes or models we should be considering ?
FOr example if I look at the Bosch Rotak models (which seem to be absolutely everywhere) they vary in price from ~£60/70 for the smallest one up to about £170 for the largest (and higher if you consider the battery model)

With a lawn this size the only benefit I can see of getting the larger model is the increased power it offers will perhaps give me a better cut ?

The lawn was laid as turf 2 weeks ago and is for the purpose of this thread flat (ie no lumps and bumps in/on it)

Any comments welcome :)

I bought one of these after borrowing my dads I was that impressed with it.

I have 3 big lawns and it does them in no time. Sucks up all the grass nicely and does the edges Where my old mower used to leave grass sticking up next to the edging curbs.
Cheap as chips too :D

I have the older version if this and I have no complaints at all. Excellent little mower. Parts are cheap as well.

Had one brilliant engine had loads of power but the self propelled broke and the body dint last long.

The body's are solid. Are you sure it was a Honda body? I use them every day and I've only ever have 1 body break after 2 years of use. So for a normal user 2 years would be a life time

Bosch Rotak excellent, I just found assembling the grass box was a slight PITA. Now around 3 years old but hopefully last many more.

yeah it was a Honda.

I should have said the cables and the metal bars handles etc

The cables can snap but if you disconnect them (very easy to do) they will last much longer.

With the handles they do pop out at the bottom when you rag them around. But again these things shouldn't really happen with normal use. I've put a jubilee clip around the bottom. Almost indestructible now

Went for one of these in the end, Homebase had them on offer and it was/is a 15% weekend, none in stock but the store is local and I will be able to collect it on Tuesday.

It was £76.50, for a 37-14 model :)
