Disney bans selfie sticks

Selfie Sticks, along with Facebook, Flickr, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Twitter, Vine it's all just a load of attention seeking rubbish and I am glad to say I have an account for none of them and I don't intend on changing that!

Just like people who think it's cool and amazing to not actually write anything on forums, but to instead post an animated gif, meme or video. It's all just pathetic and embarrassing really what the Internet has become in the past 10 years. The majority of the Internet population these days have zero personality and nothing to offer apart from copying and competing with each other as to who can post the best content and show it (which is also likely copied and recycled content anyway).

I just don't buy into this social media rubbish and this generation of people taking "selfies" and what not, it is rather lame but apparently everyone else jumped on the bandwagon and think it's cool, I must be a minority these days.

What a world we live in these days

Pretty sure this will be due to safety on rides rather than simply because they are bloody stupid and annoying.

Good news though.

I took my son to the zoo and was surprised by the sheer number of selfie sticks. Selfie pictures with elephants in the background etc. Tbh it doesn't bother me. That these girls think pouting is more attractive than a nice smile does, or the ironic pouting that's done to death. That is more irritating than a selfie stick :D

Or people that have to take one of those gopro things with them everywhere.

I have never seen one of these in the wild. I sort of hope they don't exist and it's just a joke you're all playing on me.

Think i can see why...

Gives some stranger my £500 camera to take a picture of me and a few seconds later I see said person running off down the road with my camera...

just ask someone who's clearly with a family.

if your chinese/japanese then maybe it's okay as they are probably to shy to ask.

saw some chinese guy at the local park playing some wind instrument with about 50 ducks gathered around him chilling to the music.

as soon as I sat on a bench near by he stopped playing and sprinted out the park lol.

was some proper old school chinese tune that sounded really relaxing too

never understood why they can't just ask someone to take their photo

I know, I find it quite ironic that the people who are desperate to portray some kind of messianic social life on Facebook et al lack the social skills to actually be social in real life, by... You know, actually talking to someone via a medium that doesn't involve a computer/gadget of some kind!

I'm not long back from a Disney holiday and selfie sticks where everywhere. There was particular ire and plenty of arguments developing as people tried to get a pic in front of the castle and a selfie stick would suddenly pop up and spoil things. Disney employees are perfectly happy to take your picture on your own camera so no need for the sticks.

Also saw them used a lot in ride queues and as you can guess, there isn't the space for such self-absorbed behaviour. People getting clouted on the side of the head and huge gaps appearing as the trout pout was being perfected. Good riddance to them.

Whilst I agree with most I would disagree about LinkedIn, it's actually a very useful business networking tool when used right. Helped me get my most recent job.
