Results of the GPDA Survey...

Just over 215000 fans took part. That's pretty wee poor to be honest. Considering how big F1 is meant to be, that to me means that they didn't push the media enough to cover the survey meaning that fans probably had no idea about it. Shame.

Interesting to see the stat of 80% don't follow a particular driver. Its all about the teams, apart from SMR, who loves to spaff off over a JB poster every night.

I am very disappointed about the lack of stats on the pricing of F1 tickets. Wasn't there a question in there about that?

Some interesting results, but it made me smile that Hamilton is not a popular driver but JB is in the top three...

another useless stat for SMR to bring up every gp thread.

pretty poor return rate on the survey too.

Over 400 million watched f1 last season. so 200,000 completing it is 0.05%. Not quite 'overwheling' like the article states.

I expect they were all Brits as well ;-) But it wasn't like it was advertised very well, only some F1 websites carried the story about the survey and I don't seem to remember any links to it. Thus it was restrictive but arguably the largest survey done so far, unless any of you know of others. I can't really remember anytime when the fans have been consulted, usually F1 has closed meetings where decisions are made then overturned the next day. At least this is a step in the right direction...

Autosport is already reporting that the F1 padock are basically going to ignore the results anyway, as they are pretty questionable and marred by rose tinted glasses and cases of selective amnesia.

Which is exactly what I said would happen.

Well, it was a crap survey anyway. Same old story of "HEY GUYS YOU LIKE WET RACES HOW ABOUT WE USE SPRINKLERS?????"

They were never likely to get anything remotely useful out of it.

I must say, I...

1) Disagree
2) Pretty much disagree
3) Kind of disagree a bit, maybe
4) Dont hold an opinion worth sharing
5) Sort of think I agree a bit, I think
6) Probably mostly agree
7) Agree

... with you there JRS.

It was an online survey that took 20 minutes to complete. Getting over 200,000 responses is actually pretty impressive.

It was a very poorly publicised and written survey and incredibly long which would explain why the participation was so poor. Such a long survey but lots of questions effectively asking the same thing and lots of questions that should have been asked that weren't. There were a few things I was expecting to come up that never materialised.

Yes, there were a few questions on pricing.
