Best tablet for money for streamin/journeys etc

Hudl2 if you just want the basics. I've got a Hudl1, which has been perfectly functional, with a decent display, albeit not the most powerful.
 
Also interested in what people reckon is the best tab nowadays.
My mums p7500 1st gen galaxy tab 10.1 packed up today after 3 years of solid use. My mum loved it bless her and I want to get her a replacement. Is the Note 10.1 (available at JL for £200) the best replacement at the minute?

Ideally want something as future proof as possible. She mainly uses it for reading books and surfing / email / WhatsApp / Skype etc. 10.1 is the minimal screen size really.

Is the nexus worth the extra ~£100 over the Note 10.1? On paper the Note seems to be the better device...
 
Depends, I got my mum a Nexus 9 16GB for £200.

I have a Tab S 8.4 myself. Touchwiz really bogs it down. I've kept it fr the screen though cos it's like no other.

TBH if the OP is happy with HUDL specs, then that's the best bang for buck.

Another shout for the 8.4! Perfect size and screen is wicked :) Just throw another launcher on it :)
 
+1 to the 8.4, the screen is just awesome. There's a larger 10.5" version if you want a larger screen.

The Shield tablet is another to consider.

The £200 Note 10.1 at John Lewis is sold out, tho I did see a tab pro 10.1 at curry's for £199, great tab but not tab s great screenwise.
 
I use my Sony Xperia Z ultra phone. It has almost the same viewing width as a 7" tablet, but can still be carried in my pocket. They can be picked up for around £200 new
 
Just seen the tab s 10.5, that thing looks ace! Might just invest in that now! It's around £300 over at the forest, good price?
