I've noticed that my PSU has developed a really annoying high pitched whine when ever I am gaming. It's really annoying!.

Is there any way to stop this? or is it RMA time?

are you sure its the PSU?

its normally the GPU that develops coil whine.

I would have a game running with the side of the case off and confirm its the PSU that's making the noise.

never heard of it coming from a PSU before but could be a first that I am aware of lol.

My whole computer is watercooled :P.

I've checked it all and its definitely my PSU.

Yes psu's have coil whine and has been said if its under warranty send if back but remember sending something like that isn't cheap (especially since it will be international)

Do I do the RMA through OCUK since I've only had it a few month?

Well when I sent mine back Corsair sent a courier to my house to pick it up and brought me a replacement within 7 days. The same thing happened when I returned coolers to them in the past too. Not sure how EVGA returns work but corsair customer service has been fantastic for me. They see coil whine as a fault, not sure about EVGA on that either.

Why is this relevant?. It's only makes the whine when the fan has to start up.

Because if the whine happens to be related to FPS (as happens often when testing with Kombustor etc*), and by chance way more FPS than you actually need are being churned out when gaming, then you could put a cap on the FPS and see if it's ok like that. As long as it doesn't interfere with performance of course.

* I've heard PSU's whine during Kombustor usage maximising FPS, despite having a lot more wattage than is being used.
