Ive made a few trips LHR - JFK in the last few months and flown with Virgin, Delta, BA and AA.

Im looking at flights for next trip and US Airways are coming up cheapest, are they any good? Free food/drinks like the rest and decent IFE? Or are they a 'budget' airline?

Tried to find reviews online but its proving not as easy as expected.

Flew Manchester-Philadelphia-West Palm Beach with them last year, and it was pretty good for an American airline, food was ok and the MAN-PHL leg was on a brand new A330, so seat back IFE was standard in economy. They were in the process of being absorbed by American Airlines though, so things may have changed.

Pretty impressed with them, on a par with the likes of Lufthansa, KLM in my experience.

Flew NYC to Vegas with them. Worst airline of the lot after flying around for the previous 6 months. Unprofessional staff, no in-flight entertainment at all, don't think we got any snacks either.

US Airways has now merged with American Airlines and they are in the process of merging the networks together.

However on LHR to JFK the 'US Airways' flights you are finding are codeshares anyway, so they'll be operated by American Airlines 777's anyway.

You'll get full IFE, food, etc. On flights operated by AA's new 777-300ER's there is also wifi.

Internal US flights are nothing like international ones. You won't find any entertainment on a British Airwyas European flight either for example..

Flown transatlantic with them 3 or 4 times. They are average bordering on barebones economy style flying. You get what you pay for and I personally now don't mind paying extra to fly Delta or what have you.

One round trip to Philly. Nothing special, but one thing that stood out was the only way to tell the staff apart from the punters was a badge.
