Quite a few flashes over towards London, too far away for any thunder here. It looks to be heading north now.

It's lighting up here (Luton) quite nicely. Thunder is rumbling in and first few flashes have appeared!

It's been surreal here (Medway). For the past couple of hours we've had frequent regular lightning..But only a few thunder claps. Apart from rain, it's been an almost completely silent storm.

What a load of rubbish that "realtime" map is. I'm in Rochester, Kent with my windows wide open and haven't heard or seen anything yet the map says there's lots all around!

Had a pretty dramatic drive home just now. lightning flashing constantly and then got caught in a torrential downpour of heavy rain and hail (fortunately not gold ball sized hail, just normal little bits). Lots of surface water flooding and visibility was awful.

Yeah, Milton Keynes has been freaking amazing. Stupid trees, I've got a south facing wall that is 7m of glass floor to ceiling, on the 1st floor, with three great big trees 15m in front. Still seeing plenty but they are blocking too mcuh.


Holy, crap, literally as typing the rain went from heavy to holy mother of god the world is ending... for a bit anyway.

I've not really seen lightning like this, where it's like 3-10 flashes in the space of 1-2 seconds. More like strobe lighting than lightning.

Been some truly epic visible lightning strikes though, probably the most impressive lightning I've ever seen tbh.

Milton Keynes seems to be picking back up in intensity, some good rumbling and lots of flashing over central MK... damn, I'd love to be at the top of one of the block of flats in the centre looking out over everything tonight. I'm just over in Campbell Park, not high enough to get a good view.
