For the sake of case tidyness, I'd very much like to add a backplate to my gpu. From what I understand, the ref design cards, both 980ti and Titan never came with a backplate. Was this for a specific reason? Would it be wise to add one? Can anyone point me toward a place that sells them, preferably based in the UK?

Ocuk sell them.... Look in the watercooling section, im sure they fit the same way as if you had an air cooler. They are described as "asthetic retention plate" The cheaper cards didnt come with them as its a "extra" others chan charge for.

Pointless other than for asthetic reasons but if you stare at the inside Of your case all day then it will look better than a pcb i suppse!
