*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

It's useless until you unlock wolfpack then it turns into a monster.

bottom of the leaderboard too.

destiny has a history of giving the worst player the best loot. it could be random and it just sticks in my mind as it's just so wrong but i've seen it sooooooo many times now.

RNG is just so frustrating - i had top kills in VOG yesterday yet the guy who died 30 seconds into oracles gets a praetorian foil and someone else who died 30 seconds later gets a found verdict (both guns I don't have).

We basically had to 4 man oracles and I ran out of primary (VOC) on the last stage meaning I had to use rockets as well as icebreaker.

It was such a let down having had to work twice as hard to be rewarded with nothing and others got stuff I want for doing terrible.

They should tier the RNG system. Better players have a better chance or something.

It's not necessarily the "weakest" player that I find here rewarded. I've been utterly dead last in a lot of PvE situations but haven't died once as I've been acting as medic. Also, the vast majority of my kills have been precision kills. I've had two Gjallahorn this week

That's absolutely confirmation bias. You notice it way more when someone at the bottom of the leaderboard gets a decent item and so you remember it more. Over time you conclude that people who finish at the bottom get the best loot. It's entirely random - I've had exotics for finishing top, middle and bottom, and I've seen them drop for others regardless of their position.

That being said, I haven't seen any real difference in top players getting better (or perhaps it was more?) gear since Bungie said it'd be weighted in their favour. Still seems as random as ever.

I consider myself quite an average player. Some games topping the board, other having a stinker. It does appear to be totally random. I got my gally in pvp and had a decent game. I've finished top and got nothing along with being bottom and getting nothing. Its really just that we get jealous and other peoples awarded items at the end.

Had a k/d of 8.1 and topped the leader board in one game got sfa for it. I can see where your coming from

I'm not asking for a lot. The top player should get a mote of light every round as well as a RNG on the second drop.

At least that would soften the blow of doing well and getting nothing. Giving rewards with no incentive to do well makes crucible a horrible place to be.

I came up a guy yesterday who never captured any points, never went to contest for heavy ammo any time it spawned but sat at the back camping with icebreaker. So he wasn't even going for special ammo.

He ended the game with like 13/1 or 18/1 k/d ratio and i was like wtf where was that guy the whole game? To be informed by some fireteam members he sat in the same spot up at the back the whole map sniping.

Next map didn't have a safe spot. After I killed him a few times with the messenger I think he left or just hid not bothering to even snipe people.

More points should be rewarded for capturing points or holding onto them. You could effectively win a game by just camping 1 point and getting multiple kills and not dying.

Rewards in Crucible are simply a bonus for me. I never actually expect to get anything at the end of a match, so it's just a nice bonus when I do. I can't say I get jealous when someone else gets something either. Maybe I would if there was a weapon I was desperate to get my hands on, but there's not.

At the moment, I'm playing Crucible a lot more than I used to primarily because it's actually good fun, despite being frustrating at times, and secondly for the Grimoire score - I've set myself the challenge of completing the Grimoire by the time Taken King comes out. :)

Exactly how I feel about it. I only play Control and I absolutely love it. Not bothered about the rewards as I am just enjoying the gunplay and movement, good rounds and bad.

I don't play crucible for the rewards though it is nice to get them. If I am not in a fireteam control annoys the hell out of me. People capping the objectives seems to be the exception not the rule. Sometimes it seems a rinse and repeat of I try to cap a flag, team mates run past instead of helping, I get killed on flag, enemy cap flag so then I try to cap a flag.....

This isn't a Destiny issue though, happens in so many objective game modes over many games.

Edit: Though **** randoms are a problem in PvE as much as PvP. Did the Omnigul weekly last night as I need the SC, all 3 of us from the beginning one random got 57 kills, the other got 73 and I got 257. It didn't help that the randoms were using a pulse rifle and the other an auto rifle.

Yeah and it'll always be an issue whether it's Battlefield or Destiny or whatever. It's a shame but occasionally you can get in a good flowing team even with randoms. I don't get annoyed so much anymore as I'm so used to it.

My K/D sucks but at least my neutralized and capped zone percentages are high!

If your not capturing but your getting a good amount of kills your still helping your team. There has been times where my team straggles to keep a point cause they keep dying so instead of capturing the point I switch to slayer mode and try kill anyone and it typically works out fine. Slayer are very important to things like holding down areas of the map and capturing points, moreover when I can get a super ever 2 mins or so, so we can rush often towards a point.

The worse and I mean the worse is when you have a group of people caping a flag then you get the message. Heavy ammo is now available!!!

Talk about getting jolted at the alter......
