Landlords/tenants - locks on room doors

Depends on the house. In the house I posted about above it was a group of 3 good friends, plus me and another 'randomer' they had worked with. When I viewed the room they explained that they're all good mates, nothing to hide (lol) and we all expect to get on together as a house. We were all working professionals, it's all about trust and to be honest it worked out really well.

Shared flats before with people I trust but can't say I had such an opinion of some of their friends - fortunately not had anything more than one trying to make off with my whiskey (and to be fairish was probably so wasted hadn't really thought it through).

Tell him to move out, steal his flatmates stuff on the way, they might get the point.
Steal the beds too to give the landlord a lesson.

Not if they're propping the door open... as they are...

Ahh yes I didn't read that as it was information contained further down the thread.

At least it would let all housemates know that the door is intended to be closed (and is actively attempting to close the door so more pro-active than a sign) and so BB's friend should still inquire about getting one fitted - it is standard practice on fire/security doors these days and is very cheap and easy to fit.

Exactly - when you open a door you shut it, but the other housemates are leaving it open (because it's warm at the moment) then going to their rooms. They say it will be fine.

They are stupid.

BB x

Get colleague to talk to housemates and ask them to close door behind them? Or is that too sensible?

It sounds like this conversation has already been had, they're just that stupid.

Take their laptops Anna sell them. Still your own laptop. Tell them "well, we were robbed. Guess it was preventable.

Use money to get better pc.

I even lock my flat door when I'm in and it's in a locked block in a not-at-all-bad area. One of my insane neighbours (of which there seem to be many) 'confused' my place with his one night and just walked right in.

Needless to say he was forcibly ejected and the door has stayed locked 99% of the time since, even though he is long gone. You can't account for other people's treachery, stupidity or naivety.

lol my neighbours visitors are always trying my door finding it locked and knocking on then the "oh it's next door sorry"
